Ben's Place
The new place behind Car Max. They been here a while and the food is really good but I still have to describe where it's at. We had a casual business lunch and one of us knew all the good unusual entries. They have rooms for private gatherings.
Imperial Garden Chinese Restaurant
The family wanted Chinese. The wife and I wanted a sit down meal. But it was a nice night so was asked to be seated outside. We were treated to great service. They had to open the other door to service us. The waiter went out of his way for us and the owner came out to check on us. Oh, the food was excellent too.
Wang's Kitchen
OK, it's the closest Chinese food to the house. It's standard fare. The kids always like the sweat and sour chicken. My son likes the chicken wings and we have to make sure they don't put any sauce on them.
Duraleigh Auto Center
It was my dad who found them. They always have a hard time finding me since he and my wife take their cars there more often. The shop does good work at a reasonable price. We continue to go back time and time again. How else can we recommend them?
Snoopy's Hot Dogs & More
We had gone downtown for some reason and didn't stop for food. We were all hungry and it was on the way. We stopped and get hot dogs. They hit the spot. Good food, reasonable price, and friendly staff.
Snoopy's
Now this isn't the one near Meredith College. But it's just as good. This is a hot dog stand. We sat in the back of our SUV to eat and watch the world go by. The staff is always nice and friendly. And since my daughter does get the bun with her dog, she gets a deal. The price are reasonable but go because it on the to-do list for Raleigh.
Hard Times Cafe
It cold and windy tonight so my mind goes to chili and if it's good chili, then it's Hard Times. I like half Cincinnati, half Texas, 4 ways. With a cold beer, it's the best. Even their own-brand root beer is good. The place is a bit dark but you not there for the atmosphere.
Schiano's Pizza
They have a good medium crust pizza. For a while, it was only independent pizza place in the area. They are located in the plaza and the floor plan limits the seating area. It was alright early but then it starts getting crowd with the teenagers crowd. Remember there is always take out.
Peddlers Steak House The
This is a Raleigh landmark. It's one of the few places where you get to see the beef before it's cooked and you get to chose how big you want it. The service is great. The salad bar is small but really did you come here for the salad?
Japan Express
I found a place to get my Hibachi Chicken near home. My daughter has some food concerns so we both love the chicken and rice. Alright I have to eat most of the veggies. The portions are good, she and I can split one for lunch. She also likes watching the food get cooked.
