The Carrot Tree offers many vegetable-centered dishes, as well as lots of good main dishes and drinks. Try their take-out soups -- they're great to buy and then bring into work. Everything is made fresh!
This business is beautiful inside and out -- it's an exquisitely crafted store, with some gorgeous, handmade furniture inside. The furniture is really expensive, but if you're looking for pieces you'll have for a lifetime, go here!
Life Way is small but has a good selection of books and CDs -- they'll special order stuff that you need if they don't carry it. Don't expect a bunch of older, more obscure music, though -- for that you'll probably need to look online.
That Little Mexican Cafe is great -- tasty salsa, chips, great service and a good collection of cheapish Mexican entrees. Try their guacamole cart and their margaritas... yum!
Escape from the rich, fratty vibe of bars closer to campus at Nevin's, where you can get a great beer and enjoy conversation among a slightly older customer base. The fries are good, too.
Merle's BBQ is a great place to go with a friend or with a huge group -- there are big tables that can seat 10-20 people. The food is great, the sides are incredibly tasty and the meat is to die for. Yum!
If your idea of studying is propping up a book and immersing yourself in your iPod and a latte, then the Unicorn is your place. Whenever I've gone, it's always been packed -- which is great for people-watching but not so great for actually concentrating on the textbook...
Great dancing here, although go when it's crowded and be prepared for pricey drinks. Wear your cutest outfits -- no scrubs here please. The music is mostly techno.
If you hate crowds, drink specials, faux-country music and mechanical bulls, you're in the wrong place. If all of those scream "night on the town" to you, check out H&H for some fabulous times. Bring your dancing shoes!
My back was so tight that I was in pain and I took the day off work. I came here and they were so helpful. The place itself is clean, beautiful and restful, and the woman who gave me a massage was really kind and good at her job. Pricey, but, you pay for quality.
