Mi Cocina/ Highland Park (MCHP) is the finest MiCocina in the area, hands down. Be prepared to wait during a busy dinner time or go for a nice lunch with girlfriends!! Mambo Taxis are dangerous but WONDERFUL!! This is their signature margarita. This location is very family friendly. Prices are moderate but quite decent for Highland Park Village. I love the Lucy Changa but be forewarned - it is a huge portion!!
If you live in Dallas and you have NOT visited Herrera's, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU !?!?! Go and you will be hooked. Yes, it is in a crummy part of town, but really just off the main strip of Maple is not too bad. The food is authentic and wonderful. You simply can not go wrong from Huervos Rancheros to Enchiladas. The salsa is Be casual and have fun
Rafa's is a tradition with many families in the Park Cities. Rafa's serves the finest, freshest homemade Tex-mex around. The atmosphere is friendly and not fussy or stuffy! We love everything about Rafa's! Great seafood enchilada's and veggie choices available also! Salsa is wonderful! Margarita's are great, too!!
Food is cheap and messy. Nasty little place that caters to low-class men only. I had no idea just how tasteless the poor waitress' outfits really are until I accidentally went there thinking it was a normal sports bar. I was so embarrassed and hoped I was not spotted by anyone I knew! If you believe degrading women is a cool thing this is the place for you.
Not to be missed! The food is all fresh and delicious. The service is very personable and courteous. You will feel at home after 2 or 3 visits. The prices are extremely reasonable especially because they are located in Snider Plaza in the heart of University Park. Give them a try and you will be hooked. They also serve sushi which is impeccable prepared.
This restaurant makes you feel like you are at the beach when you visit. It is quite small and very busy at lunch time. There is additional seating outside if the weather is good. The fried oysters are some of the best I have ever enjoyed. The Oyster Nachos should be ordered every time you visit. YUM - they consist of a tostito type chip with a delicate remoulade sauce a delicious fried oyster and topped with some of the BEST Pico de gallo I've ever had. The calamari is also very good. Prices are very reasonable, remember, you are in University Park.
A legend in dining. Kuby's family came from Germany and still operate restaurant. Lunch is very busy. I enjoy breakfast on the weekends. My favorite dish is the King Ludwig a German twist on the traditional Eggs Benedict. Also order a side of potato pancakes. They are served with applesauce and sour cream to suit your taste. Delicious! Take time to browse the deli for meats that can not be beat, deli salads to die for and the shelves of the little grocery store are stocked with European delights. Enjoy!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. It just so happens it is also purely vegetarian. There is a yoga & meditation studio upstairs. The positive energy and warm ambiance of this restaurant is not to be missed. My favorite dish is Trinity Tacos. I promise you will not miss the meat and the jasmine rice and beans are always perfect. Don't miss the hummus plate! Don't be rushed, enjoy yourself and make this an experience to remember. They have a very nice front porch with tables to eat at if it is a lovely day, enjoy.
The restaurant is located in a Hindu temple. The people are so nice and polite. There is a gift shop located in the temple with the restaurant. You are made to feel very welcome. It is an experience for sure! The seating includes a beautiful peaceful and romantic setting. The food is prepared buffet style, always vegetarian and mostly dairy free also. IT IS DELICIOUS. The food selection changes daily so you are always in for a surprise! The desserts are also very good, save room, and do not pass them up! The tea is perfectly delicious (no sugar needed). The salad bar is simple but fresh and tasty. Don't miss out on the homemade cinnamon raisin bread. For $8 dollars per person you definitely get treated like royalty and the food is delicious. Go with an open mind and leave with an open heart!
Mango is pricey - but well worth it. The vegetarian spring rolls are delicious! The HOUSE FRIED RICE is always yummy. The ambiance is very nice in this restaurant. You will enjoy it very much. It is located just outside University Park, this is the reason for the higher prices. It's totally normal for this area.
