I have been going to see Dr. Cather for my medical (dermatology)needs for a few years now and recently began seeing other members of her wonderful staff for related cosmetic procedures such as facial peels, microdermabrasion, and laser hair removal. I am very happy with the results and love the way my skin looks. I've never had trouble getting an appointment, never had to wait very long, and never felt rushed during my appointments.
Accoutre is a great boutique for fun and unique items. They carry everything from jewelry to picture frames, fun bottle stoppers to mugs, candles to ladies tops, and much, much more. The back room is filled with fun Texas/cowboy items that you probably won't find on every corner. A friendly "hello" when you walk in the door only adds to joy of a trip to Accoutre!
A nice addition to the downtown area, Vickery Park in Plano is the second location of this great local bar. (The first location is on Henderson Ave in Dallas.) Vickery Park takes familiar favorites like onion rings, fries, and brisket up a notch and also have a wide selection of beers from around the world. They're open for lunch and dinner and offer a brunch menu on the weekends as well.
Georgia's Farmers Market is a great local market with a nice selection of fresh fruits and vegetables from area farmers. I love that the items, especially the onions, are not so huge or shiny that they look like they were sculpted instead of grown. For Dr. Pepper fans, Georgia's has small, glass bottles of the original drink. During the Spring, Georgia's features flowers to brighten up your garden.
Whenever I feel the need to pamper myself with a manicure and pedicure, be it for a special occasion or just because, Hair'em and Nail'em is my top choice. They specialize in growing and strengthening your own natural nails. Harsh chemicals or acrylic nails are not available/used here. Friendly staff and personal service only add to the great experience.
If you're looking for a distinctive set of glasses, bowls, or serving dishes for your home, Holman Pottery just might have what you want. The pottery is made on-site and is available in a variety of glazes. In addition to pottery, the shop offers a nice selection of vases, glass globes, and other items made by local artists as well as Tony Holman. No mass produced items here! Holman Pottery also hosts classes with various Scout groups and has the occasional class for adults.
A Toast to Texas offers a nice selection of beer and wine for that perfect dinner, picnic, or party. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. The wines are small production wines that you might not find anywhere else. (The owners are involved in their selection.) A Toast to Texas also offers beer and wine tastings, as well as cheese and glasses to compliment their wines.
Nature's Finest Art has taken over my jewelry box, and I couldn't be happier. Fine craftmanship and a wide variety of styles and stones at a reasonable price...no wonder everyone I have brought to this store has come back again and again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If they don't have what you're looking for today, they could have it tomorrow. Earrings, rings, bracelets, pendants, and necklaces are just the beginning. This wonderful store also carries a choice selection of handbags and jewelry travel cases, as well as ornaments and other gift items.
The Wooden Spoon is the best of many worlds. On one side of the shop is a wonderful selection of gift items, including shoes, shirts, jewelry and books. On the other, a tasty selection of foods items. I've fallen in love with the cheeses and am looking for an excuse to try the swedish meatballs. Not just a store, The Wooden Spoon also offers classes (language, painting, handicrafts). This is a one-of-a-kind store and worth a visit, even for those of us who can't claim a family connection to Scandinavia.
