Melrose on Ponce is one of the cutest shops in Atlanta! They have uniques gifts and so much to choose from! I bought the cutest hand-painted wine glass for a friend and want to go back and buy one for myself! They also help out with community fundraisers and support local events! Great shop!
Backgate Restaurant is good place to go to watch the game and have appetizers. The food is alright, but the restaurant is never very busy. Every time I have been here it has been pretty empty.
Gondolier Pizza always has good service and good food. The prices are reasonable. My favorite thing to order is the Greek salad. It's always fresh and tasty. Gondolier is a Calhoun classic.
I used Cup A Dee Cakes for a friend's bachlorette party and they did SUCH a great job!! The cake looked so adorable and tasted even better! I will definitely order cakes from here in the future!
Rosebud products are so great! I use their lip balm all the time and love it! I recently called them for a donation for the Junior League of Atlanta Ball and they were so willing to help! They responded and sent products promptly. I will definitely continue to buy their products and support their business.
The Pink Monogram is a great place to shop for gifts!! They have the cutest mommy/daughter clogs and great monogrammed koozies! I love buying gifts here because everything is so unique and personal.
Women's Institute For Health (WIFH) is a great company and supports the local community. Every year they donate to the Junior League of Atlanta and are so easy to work with. Their services are great and their prices are competitive.
Los Gallos has good food, but it's different than a lot of other Mexican restaurants. It is considered an "authentic" Mexican restaurant so some of their items are not what you would normally expect. For example, I once ordered an enchilada and expected the normal red sauce on top, but when it arrived it had a brown sauce on it...? Also, they don't have the usual salsa; instead they have a pico salsa. But the service is always good and the food is always hot.
For years El Rayos has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Calhoun. We go here all the time when in town. However, the last time I visited El Rayos my credit card was charged incorrectly. The server changed my tip amount and gave himself a 100% tip (he doubled my bill)... so be sure to check your credit card statement if using a card to pay.
Sumo Japanese Restaurant used to be the closest Japanese restaurant to Calhoun, so we would eat here often. Now that there is more of a selection, we do not frequent it as much. However, the last time I ate here (for a birthday party) the food was great and the experience was enjoyable. It's a great place to go for a large group.
