Wow, once you walk into this place you'll wonder what took you so long to find such a treasure. Lots of wonderful fabrics and all at bargain (bargoon) prices!!! Gotta love it!!!
Stop in for a concrete...a what??? A cup of frozen custard of just about any flavor you can imagine. They hold it upside down and it does not even drip. I guess it's like concrete in a cup...but once you dip in, you'll be in heaven and wonder what ever in the world were they talking about...love it.
From hair to nails, facials to foot massages. If you want to be pampered, head to Seychelles. Leave your troubles behind and book a 1/2 or whole day, or just pop in on your lunch hour for a hair cut. You won't be sorry.
If you want good food, eat where the locals eat. Big L is one big happy family. There's not a stranger in the place and everybody is visiting over their breakfast (or lunch) while reading the paper or calling across the room to their neighbor. They have the best grits around. I personally like to stir the yolks into the grits, with all that butter...umm, umm, UMM!!! And, if your kids grow up down the street, Miss Beverly will give them free milk shakes to guarantee the next generation of customers...it worked didn't it Bev??? My son swears Big L burgers are the best ever.
I think Dr. Dana loves puppies more than anybody (maybe even more than me). He treats my dogs like they are his own. He takes the time to answer my questions and never makes me feel rushed. He loves my babies and even sneaks them a treat before they leave the office. The staff is the same way, caring and thoughtful.
I like my shrimp fried and if you order a basket of fried shrimp here, you will certainly get your fill!!! Yummy. Family atmosphere and good food. There's a bar up front if you just want to stop in and have a cold one after work with an appetizer or two (tried the fried mushrooms).
Homey and yummy. What more could you ask for? If you're in the mood for Italian, then Papa Nick's is the place for you. Pizza and other fine Italian dishes. Personally, my favorite is the sausage pizza. Just the right spices.
For a top notch breakfast visit Butterfield's. Great food and lots of it!!! You will not go away hungry. Great lunches too and quick service in case you're in a hurry.
If you are addicted to quilting like a lot of us are, you need to check out A Quilter's Haven & More! Such talent on display and a wonderful selection of beautiful fabrics. Have a question or need a tip...just ask!!!
I can never order the dinners because I cannot narrow down my choice of vegetables. Should I have Miss Donna's squash and cheese casserole and corn pudding or the yam patties and black eyes??? Problem solved...I have the veggie plate and get all four!!! The BBQ is to die for (thanks to Jarret's wizardry with the sauces!!! Best BBQ in the country...well, I haven't actually tasted ALL the BBQ's in the country...but I bet it's right up there at the top!!! I wish there were more stars in the rating system...
