Bill Lee's Bamboo Chopsticks Restaurant
I enjoy the atmosphere at Bill Lee's. Very quiet, nice date place. The food is fantastic if not a little pricey for Chinese fare. One of the only "upscale" places in town for good Asian food.
Black Angus Steakhouse
I've been to probably 10 different Black Angus/Stewart Anderson restaurants and this one is consistently the best. The service is always fast and courteous and the food is always great. The call-ahead program they instituted is great for busy weekend evenings too. I'd much rather wait at home then in their waiting area or the bar anyways. The garlic cheese toast is to die for.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
I know it's a chain but, you can't go wrong with a franchise that encourages using products from local markets and won't use beef with BGH in it. Super tasty and you can't get much faster. Especially when you order on-line and get to bypass the HUGE line out the door. I would recommend the Burrito Bowl with a tortilla on the side since it's so much food I end up scooping half of it out into the tortilla and eating as a burrito another time. The chips with lime salt are amazing and I rarely have guacamole out that's this good.
Togo's Eatery
I know it sounds silly that a place like Togo's would have a great pastrami sandwich but I can honestly tell you that it rivals some of the best road side stands!! Yummy!
Westchester Bowl Coffee Shop
This place honestly reminds me of "Mel's Diner" from the old TV show. The waitresses have a tendency to be downright rude to the regulars although it seems to be all in good fun they tend to ignore people that don't come every day. My husband and I have been there twice but we've found the service slow and inattentive and the food mediocre. The prices seem a little much for what you get.
Cataldo's Pizzeria
I can tell you that calling ahead is the best plan at Cataldo's because they're always tremendously busy. They'll take calls for pizza hours ahead of time... just tell them when you want to pick it up. The crust is amazing because they brush it with garlic butter and they use real cheese. Cooking in a brick oven makes a huge difference. AWESOME!
Dave's Tacos
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because they're closed far too often. I remember when they were still a taco truck open until 3am so they could catch all the people leaving bars. They're still amazing... and I'm convinced there's crack in the sauce... they're addicting.
P F Chang's China Bistro
I went to PF Chang's based on rave reviews from several friends and family members. Although our waiter "Elvis" was entertaining the food took forever to get there and it wasn't very hot when it arrived. I didn't really like my orange chicken and my husband's noodle dish had a lot of things in it that weren't listed on the menu so he didn't eat it (he has food allergies). When the bill came I didn't understand how we spent close to $50 without appetizers or alcoholic beverages. I can think of many more places I'd like to spend that kind of money on dinner.
Buck Owens Crystal Palace Museum & Theatre
Want to see the biggest country fried steak EVER? I got the half order... couldn't even eat half of it. The waitress was nice but it took a while to get the food to us. The prices were a lil much but considering the portion size it was reasonable.
Izumo Sushi
Although I can tell you that my husband and I have always loved the food at Izumo... the Sashimi is always very fresh, never fishy, tempura is supper yummy and the Teppanyaki is to die for, the few women they have waiting tables speak very little English which wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that they seem to get irritated with people when they can't understand them. The two Teppanyaki chefs I've had there have always been very entertaining and do a great job on the grills. Just need to teach those servers to smile!!
