There are very distinct preferences regarding New Garden. You are either New Garden or you're Emerald in Pullman. I am definitely New Garden. The food is relatively cheap, great and quick. This restaurant is owned by the same family as Emerald, however, so you can decide for yourself.
80's NIGHT!!! Do I need to say more? 80's night on Saturdays is by far the best place to be in Pullman. Valhalla's bar is in the basement so you never quite know how intoxicated you are until you leave (or they make you leave) and you will find a very fun crowd who like to rock out to 80's music. This is a great time in a small town!
The Sports Page is next door to My Office and has a very loyal crowd. For instance you will see the staff of the Daily Evergreen there on a regular basis as well as some coaches and professors. I would choose the newer and more modern My Office but the Sports Page has some history and can be fun on the right night.
Rico's is a great spot to class it up a bit in Pullman. There is a live band but you don't have to sit directly in their performance are so you can get away from the noise. The music is generally jazzy and very good. They have billiards on the top floor and very comfortable seating. This is the type of place you go to converse or for a late night cocktail. It's not your average college bar. Many of the grad students and professors prefer Rico's to other bars in town.
I really enjoy En Jalisco. As the name would suggest it is a Jalisco style of Mexican, which is not the typical style that you see in the Northwest. It is slightly more Americanized but just as yummy. En Jalisco is a little far out in Moscow, but is right off of the mall and has an entrance both in the mall and to the parking lot. It's a lot bigger than you would think and has a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place.
This place is just ok. It works for a casual place to get greasy apps and some beer. Other than that the food is quite poor and the outdoor space for the summer isn't even that spectacular. Go down the street to Patty's Kitchen and you'll have an amazing meal for much cheaper.
This is a pretty decent Mexican restaurant, but definitely not my favorite. The atmosphere is a tad bit more upscale. I didn't love the enchiladas but the chips and guacamole were good.
The Arbor Cafe is a cool hang out for ladies who lunch or anyone looking to spend one on one time with a friend. The cafe food options are a bit more upscale and it's a convenient location to gather with friends from all neighborhoods.
I have only been here a couple of times but it is a very charming place with good food and service. I have really enjoyed the staff specifically and it is a great place to hang out for an afternoon or chat with friends.
This is a pretty average fast food type restaurant with sit down space. The chicken fingers are awesome and the philly food is relatively authentic...for the west coast.
