I love Ivar's - even when I'm in a hurry. This is a great option at the airport, significantly better than regular airport food. Ivar's is the only place you can get good chowder on the west coast and it's a perfect meal to grab on the way to the plane.
The Konditori is a fabulous dessert bakery and is well worth a stop. It's a great late evening stop with friends or a fun afternoon stop. The desserts are absolutely delicious and they have great selection.
Roadhouse is a unique atmosphere and a fun place to eat. It can be a bit loud at times so it's not great for get to know you experience. You can grab some peanuts on your way in and throw the shells all over the floor, if you please. The floor is covered with them. The bread that comes before the meal is wonderful.
These condos are a great find. They are located in the far north part of Scottsdale, which is a bit of a drive from the airport (45-60 min). But it is nice to have the quiet and privacy. The pool facilities are nice and the condos are well equipped and perfect for a family vacation.
This place is a must. It's perfect if you're just getting off the highway for gas or a quick stop. It's a small little drive through on a busy street that looks a little sketchy, but the burgers are outstanding!!
The Sea Gypsy has a great and convenient location but it is starting to get a little dated. This is a fun place for families because of its proximity to a large open beach for flying kites and building sand castles. It's just across from some great shopping as well.
We used River Drifters for a pre-wedding event with our entire wedding party. We drove out quite a ways but it was 100% worth it. We had such a fantastic time. At the time I had never been rafting before but the instruction is very easy to understand and you feel completely safe. They even take pictures of you during some of the more exciting moments and they tailor the experience to your group. I would definitely recommend them!
Hilo Hattie is the perfect tourist destination. It is a 'get it all in one spot' kind of place and they will even shuttle you in and out. They have the tourist version of authentic Hawaiian apparel and gear. Some of their stuff is pretty cheaply made but it's a great place to look for gifts.
Guentner's has an excellent and creative selection of flowers and landscaping tools. The concepts that they have displayed are fantastic for anyone looking for more ideas. Their plants & trees tend to last a long time.
Los Cabos has surprisingly good food. It's a great cheap place for a quick - but not 'fast food' - Mexican meal. I don't necessarily expect this small area to have great Mexican food but this restaurant is a find.
