Owner Mo Karimi shares with me that he still has his scar from when he was five years old. He and his friends dared each other to ride their bikes as far as they could to the drop off of a cliff and the first one to stop was the loser. Of course, Mo was determined to win and has the battle scar to prove it. That is what is so great about the vibe of this bicycle shop, the passion and love for cycling. The relentless drive to get that ultimate ride in. Ryan White, the shop??s head mechanic also chimes in with his love for cycling. His style of riding involves more stunts and tricks with a road bike. Mo??s preference is now mountain biking where he can escape the bustle of the city and enjoy some rough terrain. Nevertheless, every employee can tell you how much they love to cycle. Bring your bike in for repair, tune ups, or any other servicing. Pick up bike accessories and gear. But most of all, leave with that same passion and enthusiasm of riding your first bike because it really is contagious.
We arrived a little before lunch time and the place was impeccably clean. In fact, co owner AJ makes it a point to provide top quality service and food. His inspiration came from his travels in Europe where Doner Kebabs was all he ate. He preferred it over hamburgers and pizza, which says a lot. Doner Kebabs, which are the meat rotating on metal cooking axel, were his favorite because of the flavor and it was a healthy choice. His vision is to see this cuisine become popular in California. Aside from the chicken and lamb meat options, there is a choice of gourmet salads as well. Hummus salad, cucumber and lentil salad are among the choices. All their produce is purchased from high quality vendors, the same that you would get at a high end steakhouse. AJ knows the importance of quality, even in a tough economy. He knows that a customer will return if the food stays consistent and consistently good. This means fresh, fast and flavorful.
Wide selection of imported beers also available.
Be sure to check out their new location opening at the end of July in Mira Mesa. 9450 Mira Mesa Blvd.
Before I found Le Chauvinist, I did not know that there existed a consignment store strictly for gentlemen. Carrying exclusively menswear, shoes and accessories, Le Chauvinist offers high quality designers at great prices. The most important thing to know about the store, is that you should come in with an open mind. You can never foretell what great items you may find in the store that day. It's no wonder why.
