The Tuesday 2-for-1 is a great deal--I've been impressed by how clean and well-run the place seems to be. Not as fun when it is super crowded, like on a day with inclement weather. Fun treat out for the kids.
Ritual Cafe
fun atmosphere, friendly crowd and staff. I've been told the coffee is good, but I've tended to stick to the smoothies and been happy. Also fun to pick something up and sit outside in the park.
Pappachubby's BBQ
About what you'd expect for BBQ--I'm not terribly picky and found it to be good. Casual atmosphere and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Worth a stop if you are in the mood for BBQ.
Cool Basil
I agree totally with the previous poster--you might overlook this quaint spot, but the food is fantastic--be careful as the spices can add up quick. friendly service.
Iowa Bakery Cafe
Really great sandwiches here. Friendly service and casual atmosphere. Fantastic rewards program--they practically pay you to eat there, and it is a great little spot.
Chapters Coffee Shop
This is a cute little stop within the library--they have quite a variety of offerings. Well worth a stop if you are in the library working or studying.
Manhattan Deli
This place is a gem! I'm not a picky eater about sandwiches, but Manhattan Deli seems to make the the best--I love the fun atmosphere and the friendly services.
Thai Flavors Restaurant
I think this place is a best kept secret in this area. If you are queasy about spices, definitely take it easy as they can get quite hot fast. The portions are huge, and it is definitely a step up from your typical Asian cuisine takeout--have never been disappointed.
Java Joe's Coffeehouse
Java Joe's has an eclectic crowd and consistently good coffee and atmosphere. My book club meets there regularly and has enjoyed it for that. It is also worth a stop for reading or studying on a quiet night.
Hervey Occupational Hairapy
I love Angie! She has curly hair and loves to cut curly hair, so I really trust her to do about anything. Her prices are reasonable, and I have never left there unhappy in the several years I have been seeing her!
