Great place for breakfast! Our favorites are the spicy pork chops or the royales. The omlettes are always good too. We stop here on the way to the beach by bike. Quaint outdoor seating.
Chung King Restaurant
Chung King Restaurant has a large menu with many traditional chinese dishes. Not fancy, this is a simple neighborhood restaurant. Good steamed fish in black bean sauce, orange chicken, house chow mein...Never a wait. Reasonably priced.
Wild Thai Restaurant
We love to come to Wild Thai before we head to the movies at the Howard Hughes Mall. It's better than grabbing the fast food around and faster than the other full service restaurants. The food is fresh, healthy and tasty. Rarely a wait.
Happy Six
Lots of cute Japanese brand t-shirts. Harajuku, TokiDoki...Very trendy and young. Popular with the teenage girl crowd. Small store, parking limited, expensive.
Kaiser Permanente Medical Care: Kovac John D MD
Dr Kovac is an excellent doctor. He is always pleasant and does not make you feel rushed. He listens and is very knowledgeable. Very proactive. Unfortunately, usually has a resident he is training at all times.
Lost & Found
Great little dive for a quick drink after work. I went here after a meeting with some friends and we had a great time. Clean and friendly, reasonable prices.
Crepe To Go
Crepe to Go is a must for my kids after a meal in this litlle strip mall on Sawtelle. They always get the Greta Garbo (apples or peaches, applesauce, whipped cream) or the Marlene Dietrich (chocolate nutella, chocolate syrup and whipped cream) all wrapped in a crepe. There are also crepes you can make a meal out of with veggies, meats, cheeses, although we stick to the desserts. We recommend you read the signs and know what you want before you enter this "hole in the wall." It really is tiny. The cook is sometimes referred to as the Crepe Nazi, as he has little patience for people who make the lines long and don't know what they want. He has always been very friendly with my boys and I. Give it a try!
Tokyo 99 Plus
This is one store we do not pass without wandering in to find something to buy. Lots of cute Japanese novelty items. Great gifts and fun items for kids.
Santa Monica Metro Cab
If you are daring enough to try some exotic sushi you should not miss the Hump. Blow fish, Kobe beef sashimi, live shrimp and lobster. Served just like the nicer sushi bars in Japan. Prices to match. Be prepared.
Maxwell's Cafe
Maxwell's Cafe is an old time favorite! Great selection of omlettes, and traditional fare. Very homey atmosphere. Service is very good and if there's a line you can get your coffee while you wait. Big portions and reasonable prices.
