B A Coffee
Way cool hangout near the university in T=town. The place to go for a good cup of joe. Walk to the game on a cold saturday w/ your warm coffee in hand. Or go to relax w/ a friend for a quiet cup o' :) Great variety of flavors.
Oxford Street Restaurant & Pub
has this moved, i thought I saw a name change at it's usual location? And was sad. Oxford Street was "our place" where we had our first date. (neither of us ate much that night though :) and also a favorite spot for me and my best friend to hang out at... Just love the older, darker, English decor and lighting and mood. Can be romantic or just private and quiet for good conversation. The Blackned chicken pasta was a fav of ours, though my hubby loves the steak and I do like the chicken w/ pineapple on top too. The dark rye (kinda sweet) bread and butter is to die for, and the salad bar is wonderful and fresh! Oh, also love the broccolli cheese soup! Please tell me we can go there again some day1!!
Mr G's Restaurant
We're weren't that impressed w/ Mr. G's Italian Restaurant. For us, it was just okay...basic spaghetti, etc They were friendly and accomadating to our kids' needs though. It was a family-oriented place and fairly clean.
Strawn's Eat Shop Too
Don't worry, STrawn's Eat Shop Too is just as good as the original STrawn's. Same menu, same great local service and same great strawberry pie! Just more convenient location for me :)
Oyster Bar
Though I'm personally not a fan of oysters (fried are okay), all of the seafood is amazing at the Oyster Bar. There are many options and you'll get service w/ a smile. Clean fun atmosphere.
Strawns Eat Shop
Strawn's is another of Shreveports "hot spots." The large hot cooked breakfasts are amazing, the homemade Southern family meals are out of this work, and of course, they are famous for their pies, namely the STrawberry pies. Personally, to me, they aren't "the best", even though they are really good (my mom's version is way better!) But the locally owned and operated, friendly service can't be beat.
Trejo's Mexican Restaurant
Who hasn't heard of Trejo's? Authentic mexican restaurant with amazing food (fajitas are a fav) and excellent margaritas! Take your friends for an after work party! A long history of friendly service!
Shogun of Japan
Shoguns of Japan is a unique and fun dining experience. It is one of the finest in Shreveport. We love watching the chef prepare our food in his amazing way....fresh and hot right onto your plate. We love the scallops most, along w/ a drink or two :) Friendly and clean service. A great date night!! (but kids enjoy it too)
Semolina
Semolina is a great fine-dining experience. We were very impressed w/ the atmosphere, the attention to our children's needs, the great menu, friendly service, and cleanliness. Unique Italian menu, w/ fresh options. Even the mac and cheese is superb!
Jan's River Restaurant
Jan's River Restaurant is one of many great seafood places in Shreveport. But it is truly a family-friendly restaurant with service w/ a smile. Our family has been many times and hopes to enjoy more to come. Prices are very reasonable as well. Location is perfect to enjoy after a day of swimming at the water park :)
