Is back open after the little mishap with the chimney this summer! Great old world Italian with lots of characters on the staff to keep things interesting. Everything tastes homemade.
This is an old school Chicago restaurant at its best. Although it's been recently renovated, it still holds all the charm of its old self. It offers some of the best pizza in Chicago (2 for 1 specials on Tues night), burgers and wings. All are great. Also a big selection of draft beer to wash all this down.
"The Stil" as it's known around the neighborhood is the epitomy of a local pub. Great people, great beer and great bartenders. When the weather is nice, they open the front french doors and let the fresh air in. Makes for great people watching as you have a great Irish ale.
Chariot is always prompt and get the job done. However, I seriously doubt the sobriety of several of their couriers. They were quite odoriferous in many different ways at the pickup. So that's a little scary.
If you need an odd or out of season vegetable at very reasonable prices, this is your place to go. Also, since Rogers Park is so diverse, you can find many different ethic ingredients that you need. Beware though, the butchery is scary (at least for me.) They sell about all the animal, so don't be surprised to see things looking back at you.
I've been going to the owner of Zea since he was a junior stylist at a big salon in town. Now he has created a smaller boutique feel in his own place. I have NEVER had a bad hair cut/color here in all my years. The staff is extremely friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. It all all the amenities of the big gold coast salons without the pomp and circumstance or the price.
These guys are great! As former "ad men", they have incredible design knowledge and ability whether it is web or print. They can make your brand identity work for you.
The Bark Bark Club is the best place on the Northside for Posh pets. I started going there when they first opened their doors and they only get better. They are truly interested in what's best for your pet, not what's best for their wallets. Plus they have all kinds of social events where you can drink and mingle with other crazy pet people.
I agree that the food is overpriced, but their specials are always outstanding and more affordable. Also, they make some mean cocktails here. Their bartenders are very creative.
We were so happy with Golan on our last move. They somehow moved our belongings out of one apt and into another (albeit only 2 blocks away) in less than 2 hours, way under their quote. This is amazing since the apt we were moving out of was up 3 stories on a narrow winding staircase. Nothing was broken and every piece of furniture that was disassembled was reassembled in perfect condition.
