My oldest son attended The Atlanta School for 9 years, from Kindergarten thru 8th grade, and now attends the public high school in our attendance zone. There were no security incidents in all his years at The Atlanta School, but he has experienced numerous ones at his suburban high school, none from either homeless or transients. If ??Anonymous? has issues with homelessness and transients in the vicinity, perhaps (s)he should move out of greater Atlanta. These folks are seen everyday in every neighborhood and interstate ramp exit. In addition the children at the school are taught respect for their neighbors, especially those that need help. To this end, they are actively involved in the Atlanta Community Food Bank, AidsWalk Atlanta, etc. Perhaps you and your family could help resolve the homeless issue more constructively thru action rather than just complaining. There are several shelters and soup kitchens that could use both your funds and your volunteer time.
Please be aware that the school is a tenant and the church is their landlord. The physical premises are the responsibility of the church, where your complaint should have been better voiced.
