I like to play this course every now and then to get my game back. It's wide open and forgives those misguided shots. My partner made a hole-in-one on the long par 3 (over 200 yards).
It's a fun course and good rates. The #1 teebox is an eye opener, and when the course is in good shape, it can be very tough. Sometimes, the summer months are painful for the groundskeepers.
This course has been opened just a few years and has attracted quite a following. It's built around a Del Webb community and may become private in the future, so all golfers should get a taste of it while it's still public. We played there in a Golf Galaxy tournament and the guys really enjoyed the track.
Tough little course that winds around next to the river. Great views and very challenging. There is a Par 3 over the water that's pretty challenging -- very tough for a woman.
This is a little country course in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, not far from my father's home. We always play here when I'm visiting because it's a fairly wide open course and rates are really good.
If you want a really good car wash and detail job, there is no better place. These guys do fantastic work and there are lines to get in. It's on Forest Lane near Inwood.
Sweet little tea room at the back of Forestwood Antique Mall. You can have a healthy lunch with a friend and then do some browsing around all the antiques.
My first whitewater rafting trip, so was very selective about the company to use and we just loved this group. Our guide was terrific and we had the good fortune of getting the first ride out after a good hard rain. We're going back.
Don't try to get in during the lunch hours -- this place is packed. Great soups and salads and we have used them for a couple of years for their catering business.
This is a new establishment near Rosemeade and Marsh (Carrollton). They have all locally grown fruits, vegetables and plants, plus natural foods. Their plants were very full and reasonably priced. I visited more during the summer months for their fresh fruits.
