When I lived in Hercules, I loved visiting Kinder's! Burgers are great and I especially loved their BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Macaroni salad is also very good. My husband and I enjoyed picking up meat to grill on our own BBQ as well.
My dream wedding and reception was held here in 2005. I don't think I could have picked a better location. HOWEVER, the wedding coordinator was a HUGE flake not showing up to either the rehearsal or the wedding, which would have been fine had I KNOWN that fact and who to turn to instead. My mother was treated horribly by the security guards, running all over the grounds trying to find myself and my bridesmaids who were in the basement finishing up getting ready. I although I still love the location, make sure to have those details planned ahead of time, because for the price I paid to rent out the library for my special day, I sure didn't get special treatment.
I love, love, LOVE the Anaheim White House. I had them cater my wedding in 2005 and just attended a wedding reception there in April of this year. Their food is OUTSTANDING and the presentation is beautiful. I still get complements to this day about the food. Love this place.
Good pizza. Went to pick up pizza yesterday and saw some sizzling lasagna ready to be put out, it look so yummy! Must go back so that I can try it!!!!
I visited the Hopyard for the first time recently, and although I cannot have alcohol at this time, I was quite impressed with the establishment, the food selection and the service. The nachos really filled a craving I had, and I want to go back for more!
I love going to Tootsie's especially when the have their biannual sale! I went for the first time during the sale to get rid of their winter shoes and got an amazing deal. I signed up for the e-mails, and was notified about their sale to get rid of summer inventory and walked out of there with another fabulous pair of shoes at a great deal.
I have found it is hit or miss with the Dublin Sewing Center. My first trip there to take in a very old machine to have serviced, I was met with some pretty grouchy ladies. I was completely turned off and vowed not to buy a machine from them, however, when I came to pick up my inoperable old machine another lady, Nancy was there and she was so nice and patient with me, and let me try out the machines and explained things to the "newbie." I have since taken classes with Nancy and have enjoyed them very much but will only work with her.
My experience at Mirage Nails has been a good one. Due to the fact that there are only 2 ladies working at a time, there can be a wait, if you do not make an appointment in advance. The ladies are very nice and the prices are reasonable.
PROS: Great inventory, large selection, the classes are unique & different...when I have the chance, I like to make the trip to the store for some retail therapy.
CONS: Parking can be difficult, the iffy bathroom situation (Will it be available to use today? - & can the health department shut down a facility for not having a working bathroom???), the lighting - because of the warehouse building the store is in, scrapping at night can be difficult unless you bring an additional light, the staff can be rude & unhelpful, the dog situation - where the owner & employees let their dogs roam free throughout the store & some of the dogs are not well-mannered & can be destructive.
I have enjoyed a couple of facials at Kelly Ann's as well as some wax treatment. Staff is very nice, prices are okay, and I love the ambience and the feeling of relaxation from my visits!
