We knew when we bought our house one of the things that needed to be fixed sooner rather than later was the roof. We were given the name of David Logue from Metal Works & Improvements as a trustworthy individual who would treat us right. He certainly did. I thoroughly enjoyed our meeting with him as I could instantly tell he was trustworthy. He was on time, friendly, informative and not pushy at all. We interviewed several other roofing contractors after him, but none could hold a candle. Our roofing project, which I shuttered to think would be utter chaos, was nothing of the sort. The project was over very quickly and done to perfection. We could not be more happy with the entire experience.
Design Surfaces had a very nice showroom full of the granite and stone countertops we were interested in. My only hesitation with this particular store is that we received three different quotes on the same item from three different sales reps. I initially went to the store, found what I liked and asked for a quote. My husband then stopped in (without me) asked about the very same item and received a different quote (from a different person). We finally went back together to be greeted by yet another individual who gave us a very different price. When we asked why there was a price fluctuation, the salesman couldn't give us an answer. That's just not acceptable to me.
Bird Decorative Hardware had the perfect fixtures for our bathroom I was dying over. After looking at countless hardware stores with no success, I couldn't believe my eyes when I found it. I also couldn't believe my eyes at the pricetag, but eventually got over the sticker shock and am now the very proud owner of some beautiful fixtures.
Premier Lighting & Hardware had some beautiful hardware options for us to consider. I like the idea of sprucing up the house with new hardware, but have discovered even going that route can be expensive. Premiere had some handles I thought were gorgeous and pretty reasonably priced. While they didn't have the exact ones I wanted in stock, they were more than gracious to order them for us. It was a very smooth transaction as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not adverse to the idea of my husband and I doing some of the interior painting ourselves. I've been scouting out paint supplies and colors to get an idea of what's going to work for us and was very happy to find Cornerstone Paint. They were very helpful in giving me ideas on which paint would be better suited for say the bathroom vs. the dining room. I appreciated their time and patience.
Aya Kitchens & Baths has their primary interests in cabinetry. I did appreciate their beautiful design finishes, but that's not what I wanted. I explained this to the very enthusiastic young man who was only more than happy to give me a tour. I had a difficult time extricating myself without being rude. When I finally stated as plainly as I could that I was not interested, he walked away from me.
After suffering a burst water main in our old home in TN, we are very sensitive about it happening again. When my husband found the Flo Logic online before we moved, he was all for us investing in it. When we finally made our move, we still had some questions, so I contacted them. I was pleasantly surprised with not only an email, but with a live call from one of their representatives. The young man I spoke to was very helpful and even offered to email some facts about the Flo Logic. It was a very enlightening conversation and made us decide on the spot we needed to have it. We have peace of mind now knowing we have it monitoring our plumbing.
We looked at Taylor Custom Home Creations when we were house hunting. I do like their concept, but felt at least for us, the overall layout wasn't practical for us. Their homes appear to be built well and are certainly lovely, but the practicality issue was something we just couldn't get past.
When we knew we would be moving to Raleigh, we weren't sure on the direction we wanted to go in as far as a home. I really want to put roots down and be finished moving, but my husband isn't ready yet to do that. To try to sway him, I contacted Richard Gaylord Homes and met with them while we were out here house hunting. I loved everything I discovered online about their custom built homes and was even more impressed when we met with their rep. Unfortunately for me, that meeting and seeing their gorgeous homes didn't sway my husband. I have no idea where we will permanently wind up, but if it looks like we put roots down in Raleigh, we are going to have Richard Gaylord Homes build our dream house.
I felt like it was Christmas when we visited the Kitchen & Bath Galleries showroom. We were interested in the tile and countertops, but I was distracted by the large display of decorative hardware. It's been very tempting to consider doing a full facelift to our house, but calmer heads need to prevail. We really don't want any major demolition in our house, but do need some fixes. The decorative hardware is a much cheaper alternative to some of the facelift scenarios we have been looking at. I love this showroom and have been back several times to get inspired.
