San Bruno, CA
Great place near the Transamerica building to grab some authentic Italian without breaking the wallet?the owners are great and obviously love what they do given the dcor of the restaurant and their annual visits to Italy to learn the newest trends in food from the homeland!
I live near the San Bruno Rolling Pin and find it hard to pass by without stopping in for a french curl! If you've been eating at Krispy Kreme for too long and forgot what a real donut tastes like check em out they're 24 hours and not far from the airport if you find yourself killing time before dropping off or picking up folks at SFO?
An oasis in a dodgy area of the city accessible from the financial district. If you can bring yourself to step over the winos on 6th avenue your palette and budget will be rewarded for the effort!
Why eat tasteless Chinese food when in China Town? You almost have to work at eating bad food in San Francisco in general and Asian food in specific, but that's exactly what happened to twice in same evening at Brandy Ho??s. My first dish (vegetable lo-mien) was so bland I ordered a second (vegetable fried rice) assuming the noodles were an anomaly and that it would be impossible to screw up fried rice but they I was wrong! Highly not recommended as there is no reason to eat here that I can imagine understanding you are in the middle of Chinatown and not far from North Beach with plenty of places to dine that are notably better!
