Roma Cafe is a must-try Italian Restaurant. It's the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Detroit. The food is fantastic. The tuxedo-clad waiters take your orders on PDA's, and it's surprisingly affordable. Do try!
I've been going to Mexican Village Restaurant for almost 30 years. It was the only Mexican Restaurant around back then. Even with a lot of competition in the area, it's still one of the most authentic Mexican Restaurants. The food is fantastic. The same dishes that were great 30 years ago are still great today. I'm impressed it's kept its wonderful atmosphere for all these years. It's also nice to see how much it mirrors the original restaurant on Bagley in Detroit!
They have a good variety on their menu, though their burger is one of the best in town. The pizza is also very good. We get carry out as well as dine in on a regular basis. I would recommend Speakeasy to anyone!
Target Sports is probably the most affodable indoor range around at $9 for a half-hour. Being located near the epicenter of the entire metro-area, though, it can get crowded, so show up either in the middle of the day during the week or first thing on the weekends. They have an excellent inventory of weapons for sale as well as some for rent on the range including AK's and AR-15's... a ton of fun! They have many accessories, too. I bought a top-notch bipod for my hunting rifle there.
Vendetti's has fantastic pizza and fantastic Spankies! I remember going to their old location near 23 mile as a kid in the '70's. The stuffed Jackalope always captured my attention! My parents wouldn't order pizza from anywhere else. Now that they've moved just South of 26 mile, I get pizza there all the time for my family. It's nice to see the old Jackalope is still around!
The Romeo Family Restaurant is one of our favorite places to dine. It's casual, smoke-free, very affordable, and has great food. It's the perfect place to go either before or after a movie in the same parking lot!
Glacier Club is an extremely nice course. It's nestled in sporatic condos and has few water hazards. I think there are four ponds affecting play on only 5 or 6 holes. The fairways aren't especially wide, but the rough is forgiving. This course is always beautifully maintained.
It's the best, most authentic Mexican food around. We mostly get carry out, and it is fantastic! My wife and kids are picky eaters, and I always have to ask for 'no cheese on this one' and 'double rice, no beans on that one,' and Taco Loco carry out gets it right every time. Their food is fresh and delicious, and when we've dined in, we've enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere, especially the roaming mariachi band!
Double Action is getting kind of dated and old. There are cheaper alternatives around town that are just as good, as well as more expensive alternatives but cleaner, nicer, and newer. Double Action is right in the middle of road for indoor ranges. If you live close to them, it's a satisfactory range.
I went to Hunts With Double just last month. It's an excellent, relaxed atmoshpere in which to practice. I always feel rushed or crowded at other facilities around town, but not at Hunts With Double. The best thing about it is that it's so close to my home. Northern Macomb and North Eastern Oakland Counties have little choices when it comes to indoor ranges, but this one is excellent. They have a state of the art air quality management system as well as an automated target locator system - just type in the distance, and your target effortlessly moves to that distance. After a few more practice sessions there, I may consider becoming a member, so I can participate in their special, closed-door sessions and competitions. It all looks very fun to be a member.
