I could write pages of critique about the experience and quality at JML Audio, but that would get boring and not serve an immediate purpose-- your needing to know that this is the best place to get car audio/custom work done. I have longed to be a JML customer for more than 5 years. Unfortunately, I was satisfied with my Kenwood Xcellon Music Keg set up in my Dodge Ram. Instead, I sent as many friends to see Josh and they all benefitted. I lived vicariously through them. Finally, a speaker died and I had reason to need Josh's services, albeit on a small scale- a pair of speakers. The rest was fate. In choosing my speakers, Josh introduced me to a quality of sound that I had not known was available to cars. It was as good or better than what we put in our homes for stereo or home theater. With live recordings, it's like bringing the concert to your car. I chose the middle of the road speakers, but more important than that, I chose to soundproof my doors-- best decision I ever made. When Josh brought me in to listen to the finished project, I was speechless. Like I said before, I didn't know it got this good for a car. I couldn't stop there so I gave Josh my other car which was stock, but equipped with a "fancy Boston Accoustics" sound system through Chrylser. Bottom line, don't ever pay for an upgraded system from the factory unless you are possbily spending $100,000 on the car- I can't speak first hand, but I would suspect that a factory system at that level might have some semblance of quality. Josh could tell you. The "Boston Accoustics" equipment they pulled from my car resembled some of the cheapest looking car stereo pieces you can imagine. My 300c was a two phase project, so far. First, the speakers, subwoofers, iPod integration and soundproofing. The result was both good and bad-- the sound was world class, same with the power. The bad was that my factory head unit, which had that nice appearance of late model cars, good set of controls and navigation, could not do what I wanted it to do with the iPod, namely, display the music information and album art. I enjoyed the sound for two weeks to determine if I could live with that set up, but staring at a blank 7" screen wasn't going to cut it. I came back to Josh for phase two- the head unit. The last head unit I had purchased was 8 years ago, pre-iPod, pre-touchscreen and pre-bluetooth. My dash is impeccable due to their talent at customizing. I have never, ever been satisfied with after market installation of a head unit. The kits never looked as good as a factory set up, especially when the manufacturers started using burlwood, aluminum and carbon fiber on dashes. To me, an after market head unit sounded great, but looked like a black eye in an otherwise attractive cockpit. Not this time. Remarkable. Bottom line, the quality of service, the service itself and the quality of product are unsurpassed-- I promise you have never seen it this good, ever (or heard it this good). Price is not to be taken lightly, but Josh will work with you. If you are a music and car lover, you must treat yourself to visit and experience JML Audio. You will drive, sleep and live better for it. Slow down and enjoy the music.
