One wild crazy party story after another... Do not miss live music at the Little Bear - a Colorado tradition. You cannot consider yourself a local without at least one visit and one crazy drunk story at the Little Bear.
Best Chinese in Evergreen. All your old stand-by favorites and some of the best hot & sour soup ever. Definitely recommended.
Unfortunate... The stunning location and view! Wish the food was better. Feels more tourist-trappy than good mountain food. Darn.
These are definitely the most creative burgers I've ever had, not just made of beef, but many of chicken, shrimp (!), salmon and pork. The flavors are amazing and international. Great salads too and a good kids menu. They just opened a location at Southglenn - woo hoo!
We LOVE the Pioneer! Casual but excellent Mexican food. Really great margaritas and great happy hour deals. I love the burritos/enchiladas that feature mushroom & poblano filling. Very tasty! Our 5-year-old likes the quesadillas and sopapillas. Great place to meet with friends & kids on the patio in the summer.
The home of Maine blueberry jam and steaming popovers. Our waiter was from Ukraine and he pronounced them "poopovers," which added to our enjoyment. No trip to Acadia is complete without a trip to Jordan Pond.
The Thirsty Whale is just about the only bar open year-round in Bar Harbor. Understandably, it's a local's place but also great for seasonal guests. The bar food is high-end. I especially love the crab cakes. Busy and crowded atmosphere adds to the experience.
Nearly every night of our 2-week vacation in Southwest Harbor, we walked to Beals Lobster. The definition of "maine lobsta shack" with incredibly low-priced steamed lobsters, hot dogs and other kid-friendly food, huge patio dining. VERY casual. VERY Maine.
The Cordillera is just over the top with amenities, service, restaurants, activities. Summer and winter with is a premium resort, price tag included. I recommend it for special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, whenever someone deserves to be spoiled. Don't miss the spa!
I was maid-of-honor at a wedding held at the Sonnenalp and had to deal with the hotel and catering quite a bit. These guys are first class. Everyone was very responsive to problems/requests and sooo nice to all the guests. All the food was great too! Beautiful and private creek-side setting for the wedding, too.
