My husband gets his haircut here religiously. He seems to think it's great, but I think he says that because it's cheap. I married Mr. Frugal. After a haircut there, he comes home looking like a marine, which is fine if you married a marine, but I didn't, I married Mr. Frugal, remember? If he asked for a modern style I really don't think they could do it, but I'd be interested to be proven wrong.
Pretty good Mexican food and never too crowded. The burritos are huge, but really fresh. They make the tortillas on site and they are delicious. For some reason, their skimpy on the salsa and we always have to ask for me, multiple times. The service is okay, not very fast, but they don't get your order wrong. I've heard Happy Hour is good but haven't been.
It's probably the only reasonably priced nail salon in Los Gatos, but the cons out weigh the pros. It's clean, but messy and you have to walk through their backroom to use the restroom. Clean it up please! They have two massage chairs, which you sit in for all of five minutes while they take off your existing color, then they do everything else in regular chairs. If I want to pay for a pedicure with the massage chair, I expect to sit in the chair the whole time. My pedicure did last a pretty long time, but my friend's manicure didn't look very good. When they charged our credit cards, they screwed up the tip and I ended up paying my friend's tip and vice versa. They called to let me know, but suggested I just settle up with her instead of voiding the transaction. Lame!
Los Gatos Cafe/Iron Skillet, whatever you call it, call it AWESOME. The souffle omelets are ridiculously light (not calorie wise) and fluffy and perfect. The potatoes have to be the best thing since, I don't know, potatoes were discovered. They're cooked and seasoned perfectly and a little crispy. So good! The carrot bread, cinnamon rolls and raspberry coffee cake are so good you'll roll off your chair in enjoyment. No people, I'm not exaggerating. You'll walk away 4,000 calories heavier, but it's so worth it.
This is a great place to take the kids -- and strollers too! They have a great lunch special --- half pizza or pasta and small salad. It's the perfect amount of food. The bread they bring to the table is so good. I think I could eat that alone for lunch or dinner. The bbq chicken pizza is my favorite!
Good vegetarian cuisine. The braised eggplant is pretty good as is the Pho (not the best, but good). The lemon chicken (tofu) is also pretty tasty. Service is quick and convenient and they also are speedy with to-go orders.
Go here. Go now, whatever you're doing, whatever time it is...unless it's Sunday, because they're closed. El Calderon is a wonderful, family-owned/run Salvadorean restaurant. The pupusa's our out of this world and the Posole is very comforting on a cold night. The decor is a crack-up so don't go expecting a five-star decked out restaurant. Other food favorites: enchiladas colorados, tamales, cheese enchiladas, chile rellenos, plantains. It gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights so it's advisable to make a reservation if you have a group bigger than four. They also do a great to-go business.
I love this place. The staff is so much more friendlier and professional than Starbucks. Eventhough it's a chain, this Peets really feels like a neighborhood coffee shop. They have an excellent selection of lowfat/low-cal pastries as well that don't taste like cardboard or that they've been sitting on a truck for three days.
Mmm, Tawan's. Man this place is wonderful. It's very small (around 6 tables) , but you can usually get a table without too much of a wait. It's run by a very nice family and named after their son, Tawan. He's adorable! The food is perfect, excellent comfort food. The sizzling beef is a must as are any of the soups. Really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Michelle who owns Happy Cleaners is very sweet and very professional. Their hours are great (open Monday through Saturday) and the prices are pretty standard. Men's clothing seems to be cheaper than women's which is frustrating when I'm picking up both mine and my husband's drycleaning, but I have yet to find a dry cleaner who charges the same for men's and women's clothing.
