Oak Tree Teriyaki
This is a very standard teriyaki joint. If you are in need of a quick, substantial meal - then go for it. Not a very congenial place for eating in - small, crowded and no decor at all. The food and prices are very average.
B & B Gutters
Over the last 20 years I've had the gutters done 3 times and B & B finally did them right. They got through this winter with flying colors - no leaking, no overflow, no sagging. I really recommend these guys. I got their names from a friend - and she was right.
Trees For Life
This is the service that takes care of my very tall coastal Redwood. It needs to be kept trimmed to be safe since it has a twin trunk. The guys just go up so easily and trim both for safety and for looks. I've had two other services over the years prior to Trees For Life and none they weren't nearly as skillful and the finished product not so perfect. They left the tree perfectly balanced and avoided any mishaps to my greenhouse.
Sweet On U
Nice addition to the neighborhood with lots of sweet treats, some of which have a healthy aspect to them. Best of all of course, is the real Italian gelato. It's not easy find in Seattle and I hope that this place stays around for a long time. They have old-fashioned hot dogs as well, although I've never tried them.
Regal Cinemas
It's been a long time since there was any theater in the Northgate area and now there are 14 with one of them being an IMAX. There's even pretty good parking and when there was a line-up to see Avatar, they were very well-organized and you could wait inside rather than outside. Concessions are standard, but there's several little restaurants just outside the door in the courtyard.
Baxter Auto Parts
I love this parts place. The staff is very helpful and will even come out and show you how to put on your window wipers if you can't figure it out for yourself! Wonderful service.
Highlands Self Storage
Have had several storage units at different times over the last few years here and found it to be a very safe, clean, convenient storage facility. I like that it is all inside and that it is located in a small strip mall so that you are never there alone, even if you go at night. The climate control is such that my stuff stayed very nice and no problems with mustiness or moisture. Lots of choices of sizes as well.
Soreano's Plumbing
A great source of plumbing supplies. I was able to locate some parts for my 18 year-old Grohe fixture and they had them! I enjoyed working with them and they gave me a great price on the parts. I wouldn't have been able to complete my remodel the way I wanted to without these parts. It was worth driving from one end of town to the other to shop there.
Shuttle Express
Used this service between our North Seattle home and the airport for both the departure and return portions of our trip. They were right on time and got us to the airport in plenty of time for our flight. They navigated morning rush-hour traffic perfectly and it really gave a great stress-free start for our vacation. The driver was very nice and helpful with our rather extensive baggage (we were going to be gone for a month). The return was equally good and we barely waited any time at all after getting our baggage to get going. It was a very pleasant and efficient way to go.
Alpha Ecological Pest Control
Got rid of a nest of yellow jackets that were in our wall!
It took 3 visits using the less toxic chemicals, but they were all covered under the initial charge.
They also showed us how to pest-proof the place so it won't happen again.
If I had other pest problems, I would definitely use them again.
