During my two visits here, I experienced a variety of services. For both massages, I was places in a tiny room that the therapist had to move the table to get in and out the door and a pole was blocking her path. The walls are paper thin and I could hear other people talking and the toilet flushing. My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a package deal. Checked it out and decided to split a package for two. This included an aromatic bath, swedish massage and facial. They never told us that we shared a bath tub!!! So she did that while I missed out. The massage was disappointing by the room and the therapist did nothing for me. There was a 10 minute state of confusion with the staff. They didn't seem to know who was doing what with us. Someone would start our massage and then suddenly there was someone else there. The highlight was definitely the facial. I will return back to Sage simply for the facial. It was relaxing and my face felt and looked great when I was done. I'm giving Sage a rating of 2 staff for the fact that I am entertained in returning for a facial.
Sephora always put me in a wonderful mood. Whether I am in the mood to prowl around there and check out the newest products or run in there for my regular products, I enjoy every visit. But I try to go there during the week as the weekends usually consist of longer lines. I appreciate the range of pricing so anyone can afford a little something. I faithfully check out their website for new items or highly rated items and then seek them in the store to personally test them. I like their card program which entitles you to a choice of free samples when you spend a certain amount of money. It's a little strange that many products can now be purchased next door at Bed, Bath and Body Works. But I think that is just a rarity of the two stores being located next to each other. I am a forever die hard for Smashbox makeup and finding new perfumes. I can do both at Sephora. My friends love it when they receive gift cards from me from this store. They make an ideal gift. They always find something in there for themselves that they love but wouldn't ordinarily purchase on their own.
I love this quaint restaurant. Great food and margaritas. I just wish that I could keep my eyebrows as immaculate as the waiters! I get side tracked from the conversation by those eyebrows every time. Never seen anything like it.
Just came back from a 5 day stay at the Paris Hotel. We were given a renovated room. The room was a little on the small side compared to other Vegas hotels that I've stayed at. Never encountered the paper thin walls experience. We never heard people in other rooms. The crepes were delicious! Dined at Mon Ami Gabi, a restaurant in the hotel, and had the best french onion soup possible. The casino was standard issue casino. We were fortunate to be able to enjoy the Diamond Club Lounge where we enjoyed free cocktails and free appetizers daily from 4-6 pm. Extras such as first on the shuttle to the Rio to check out the World Poker tournament was a luxury with the Diamond Card membership too. No complaints here with that one in the 108 degree heat! I've been to bigger and more luxurious pools, but the Paris pool does the job. We rented an air conditioned villa by the pool for a day. It was sweet!!! Juice, water and soda were provided and went well with our bottle that we brought in for the day. Much better than the fake slushy cocktails all the hotels serve. Of course the testosterone male in the group enjoyed having sports on the big flat screen tv in the villa. I loved the misters to cool down and make it tolerable to spend an entire hot day poolside.
Out of all the farmer's markets that I've been to, this one is my favorite. I keep going back to it. I go once or twice a month and enjoy the high quality of produce and plants. The unique food vendors are different than what I see at other markets. I always walk away with greatly priced beautiful bouquets. We usually pick up coffee before heading over to West Valley and enjoy an hour or two browsing and buying. I recommend going early, especially if you are looking for produce newly in season as they tend to sell out fast. The crowds tend to get thick later in the day which causes some congestion especially if people bring their carts. Remember that no dogs are allowed due to health code around the food.
A great story with terrific prices. Their meat selection is outstanding and priced right. It's always an adventure to go shopping at Mi Pueblo. I find something new to try every time.
A small place with an expected wait outside. But it is soooo worth it. With cinnamon rolls with melted butter the size of a child's head, what's not to love? Get one and share it with the entire table. Eggs Benedict of any kind are delicious. This place serves the best seasoned potatoes that I have ever ordered.
Hmmm.. thinking I should make my way down there now....
A modern and luxurious hotel. The staff are incredibly nice and talk nothing but respect for Steve Wynn, their boss, the owner of the hotel and Vegas legend. I have stayed in eleven of the hotels along the strip and not one of the compares to the customer service that I received during my stay at the Wynn. Our room was on the top floor facing the golf course. A breathtaking view. All I did was ask if they had any top floor rooms available at check in and we were lucky enough that they did. The rooms are spacious and modernly decorated. I've seen a couple different types of rooms at this hotel and I would stay in any of them again. The casino has nothing outstanding for me to stay hours for. There is more action in other casinos but I'm not a huge gambler. Although the location is a little more distance from the hub of the strip, I find myself taking taxis more often every time I go. Reve is a wonderful show. Most people don't know about the free water show. Locate the stairs by the registration area and go down or get a comfy seat in the lounge on the patio. There is nothing like it. The Bellagio has its spouting water but the Wynn presents colored lights in water and statues that seemingly enter and exit the water while set to music. Even if you aren't staying at the Wynn, it's worth a trip down there to see the free show.
I finally made it to the Banana Leaf and it was great ! In the past I was always deterred by the long line outside on the weekends. We ordered what the bartender recommended from the menu and it was all good. Looking around at the other tables, all the dishes looked appetizing and nicely displayed. I can't wait to go back. It is everything exceptional that I've read online.
This is my "I NEED TO GET OUT OF TOWN.... NOW!!!!" safe haven. I love this place. Thinking back I have probably stayed here a total of six times over four years. I like to think that I have this place down to a science.
I've learned to reserve a room in the court or pay the extra price for a "premium location". This means that you are on the top floor with vaulted ceilings and not street side. The street side faces a large hotel that is host to weddings, proms, conventions ,etc. and can have a lot of street noise. You tend to hear a lot of it if you are trying to sleep.
The location is great. There is a small general store about 1/2 block away. We always stock up on cocktails, juice, crackers, etc. for our room. It's a much better value than indulging in the in-room treats that will cost you big time. Also within walking distance is "old" Monterey which has a variety of restaurants and pubs. It is also a very short walk to the pier. I love the choices that are available without having to drive anywhere especially when we go there just to unwind.
The last time I stayed at the Hotel Pacific, it was being renovated. After being emailed a customer satisfaction survey, the management mailed me a $150.00 gift certificate due to some inconveniences that were endured due to construction. I've seen photos on line of the upgrades, most notable the installation of a large flat screen TV and the bathrooms. It looks like the unique atmosphere of the room remains the same.
Bottom line.... spend the little extra money for a quieter room location. Enjoy the free breakfast that offers a variety of food such as fresh fruit, granola, danishes, bagels, hard boiled eggs, coffee, various juices, milk, etc. All are offered on a large table ready to serve. Not small prepackaged portions (except for the small Kellogg cereal boxes) that are common in a lot of continental breakfast. I have never encountered a problem during check in or with management in general. I now give them extra kudos for sending me the gift certificate.
I'm looking forward to re-visiting the Hotel Pacific on my next relaxation getaway. Can't wait!!!
