In late January, I went with the other bridesmaids in my cousin's wedding party to get fitted for our bridesmaid dresses. The saleslady took my measurements and I was between a size 0 and a size 2. I remember having a conversation with this lady about which size to order. We agreed on the larger size because clearly, if parts of my body will not fit in a size, my whole body will not fit in that size, plus I always order a size 2. I was going out of town (back up to college which is hours away), therefore the saleslady wrote down my size for the bridesmaids?? dresses to be ordered as a group.
Just this week, the bride brought me my bridesmaid dress that we ordered from Alfred Angelos. When I looked at the dress, and read the size on the label, I became very panicked. It was size 0. I picked it up and held it up to myself and I knew there was no way it would fit. Sure enough, I tried to put on the dress and it could only zip two-thirds up my back. The dress would not fit around my ribs. I called the store right away and the manager wasn't in, so the woman who I talked to on the phone said she couldn't help me. Later, the manager spoke to my mother while I was at work.
The manager put the blame on the customer. She was saying it was my bridal party's fault for signing for the dresses and not catching the mistake their salesperson's made. When the measurements were brought up, the saleslady said many people order a smaller size as a goal for the wedding date or that I gained weight. This made me extremely angry and upset! I am a size 2, and I have been since I was 13! I have never owned any size 0 dresses. I am a collegiate athlete so I certainly have not gained weight in the last few months and I never planned to loose weight. Also, it doesn't fit around my rib cage, which is completely skin and bones and a nearly flat chest! I would sure love to see the measurement paper that the saleslady wrote on!
Then Alfred Angelos suggested I have their seamstress do alterations on the dress, which sounds like a rip-off according to other reviews. They are making a hassle out of seeing their alterations lady as well, by telling the bride??s mother one thing and my own mother another. I plan to consult my own alterations person before I go back to Alfred Angelos tomorrow.
Alfred Angelos has TERRIBLE customer service. I will never buy a dress there again and I going to tell all my friends about this HORRIFIC experience.
I will update this review after I go back to Alfred Angelos tomorrow. Maybe they will redeem themselves, but so far, I highly doubt it.
