Dr. Beltsos office can be effective with an IVF procedure, which is pitched right on the first visit, without ever getting to fully understand one's body. This is a major concern. Other procedures are performed by nurses and are performed inconsistently. I had at least 4 artificial inseminations done and each one was driven by me telling them when I think I am ovulating and each procedure was done differently, with or without the help of additional drugs, as I learned what was available by luck from different nurses serving me. It was up to me to elect to use or not to use drugs with no direct proof that I needed any of these drugs, esp. hormones. I feel they never got to know my body, yet have done procedures on me without justification for any steps. The attitude was we can try this or that, whatever you like, however IVF is the way to go. They only tested my husband's sperm count at my insistence and only disclosed after few months that males can take vitamins to boost their sperm production and health. I feel I could have gotten pregnant without the IVF, if the artificial inseminations were not done sloppy and if I knew my husband could boost his sperm production and their health with special vitamins right at the beginning. I had two IVF's. After the first one, I was told that the quality of our embryos was poor and it is unlikely that we would get pregnant in the future. However, I requested the second IVF, got different drugs and the outcome was different. It turns out that the first IVF drugs were not appropriate for us and that we could get pregnant, after all. I have been poked too many times, because the work was not done well and consistently and completely in the first place. I ended my experience feeling like an experimental rat. I do not wish for that to happen to anyone.
