Olive's
I went here for a business dinner and was blown away. We reserved the wine room, which is a private room in the back where they store wine in beautiful cabinets. The food was excellent and the service was beyond amazing. I recommend this place to anybody. Also, the atmosphere is amazing! Out in the main dining room, it's very softly lit and romantic. Definitely a great find in Charlestown.
HARPER'S FERRY CONCERT LINE
I like this place! I've been to one concert here, and it's a small venue but not so small you can't breath. I'm sure it can get crowded but it's a generally good space for concerts. Good bar, too!
SoulFire
Soul Fire is just okay. The location is convenient and the food is good, but it's not great. Go here if you're in the mood for barbeque and don't want to walk anywhere.
1369 Coffee House
This place is very tiny so it is hard to enjoy, because it's popular and usually very crowded, but it's great! Located at the corner of Inman Square, this place has a great atmosphere.
Peet's Coffee & Tea
Way better than Starbucks. This is right next to Grendel's Den in the central part of Harvard Square. It's usually very crowded, which makes it hard to enjoy, but it's still great.
Scott Pladel
I saw Scott Pladel for the first time today and he was very friendly and helpful. He paid attention to what I had to say and was very respectful. He's located at the Kenmore Harvard Vanguard location and the office is clean and the staff friendly.
DeLuca's Market
I love this store. They have very high quality food and the fruit stand outside of the store is so hard to resist!
Recently, this place caught on fire and while I am pretty sure they are rebuilding, it's very sad that this happened.
Tealuxe
I love this place! They closed the location on Newbury Street recently, which made me really sad because that's close to where I work. The bubble tea is great and so is everything else. expensive, yes, but that's what you pay for quality!
Jimmy's Shoe Repair
I took a pair of black heels in and they fixed them very quickly. When I came in to pick them up, I forgot to bring cash, and they let me use my credit card for a $4 purchase. I know that is bad for small businesses but it meant a lot that they were willing to do that. Also, my shoes broke again a few weeks later, and they fixed them for free. Definitely recommend these guys!
Inman Square Hardware
Located in the main block of Inman Square, this is a very cute, classic hardware store. There isn't anything special about it, but it really adds to the character of the square. I'm sure there are things that they don't carry that a larger store might. But when you need a key made, or a special type of nail, this place should work!
