UCSF is the BEST! This is a world class hospital that saved my life and that of my husband. The doctors are amazing and the inpatient care is fantastic. I spent 2 separate 30 day periods in the Long hospital on Parnassus and my treatment was great. Every employee from the person who brings your food to the top teaching doctor are happy to be there and want to help you. I never met anyone who worked at UCSF that did not bend over backward to help me. The nurses are super. Gob Bless UCSF
Cheryl has cared for me since I was discharged from UCSF after receiving a stem cell transplant. She is a delightful person and even in the darkest days when it looked like the transplant was not working she was a beacon of hope that helped me keep going. I had to have many transfusions and Cherly was always there to check on me when I was feeling very ill. There were weeks I went to see her 3 times and she was always caring and patient with my tears and fears. There is no way I can put into words the value of the treatment Cherly has given me. Her bone marrow biopsies are bearable and that says a lot!
Dr Wolf was on clinical rotation for one of the 30 day periods I spent as an in-patient at UCSF. He made me smile every day. His bedside manner is fantastic. He was in to see me twice a day which is not common of the other clinical doctors on my floor. He would always stop on his way home to make sure how I was doing. He brought bagels on Christmas eve morning. He talked about sports, news and his research with me. When I came home I missed seeing him! He is a wonderful doctor and great man.
Dr Damon saved my life. With his expert knowledge he and his staff at UCSF guided me through a stem cell transplant. I will be 2 years out in December of 2010 and every day is a gift!. The care I received at UCSF was fantastic.I spent 30 days on 11 Long 2 different times. Every nurse, housekeeper and cafeteria worker treated me like a princess. Being in the hospital at the holidays is hard but it was bearable at UCSF. Dr Damon sees me every 3 months and it is always a delight. He really cares about his patients and their progress. He is deeply involved in research as well to help finds cures for cancer and ways to improve stem cell transplantation.
Dr Messian made a very painful period in my life much easier to bear. I had a severe case of diverticulitis and when the first round of meds didn't clear it up he used different meds and more pain meds to heal my colon. My colonoscopy was painless and his jokes are great!
I like Dr Wolff very much. He is very pernsonable and is gentle. I bkink very easily so eye exams can be a pain for me but not with DR Wolff . I ordered a pair of glasses from him and they were not right he fixed them free of charge with no hassles.
Dr Rama was an OB-GYN then she became a GYN now she is only seeing patients with urinary problems. So she is no longer my gyn. She is very kind and a doctoe who cares deeply about her patients. I wish she was still practicing GYN
Dr Roller is does not have a very pleasant bed side manner. She does not keep up on her patients at all. Example I had Leukemia and although she was sent regular reports she knew nothing about what I had been going through. I have been trying to get a Shingle exam from her office for over 6 months. First they say they don't have the vaccine then I can get it if I pay $200 then that my insurance won't pay then that I am on a list but they don't have any.
I plan to change docotrs as soon as I use my last referral from her.
Dr Brandes helped me overcome a severe case of depression. By finding the right balance of medications he has given me the chance to enjoy my life! He is my hero.
Dr Gefvert is the best. She really cares about her patients and if there is an emergency she is always available,
