Unlike a few of the other posters I never had a problem with having a signal. I am literally across the street from the water tower they use to broadcast the signal, 30 yards from the tower at the very most. Everything went fine with them for the first 14 days of service with them when they offered the money back guarantee however less then a week following the time when I could have gotten a refund I started suffering major download speed issues.
I have CLEAR to use when I travel for work. I was in Raleigh/Durham a couple of weeks ago and you would swear that it was a totally different network than we have here in Dallas. It was blazing fast, never dropped me and extremely consistent. For what I use it for, it works fine. Even here in town, it's not terrible. However, all of the other options mentioned here are probably better alternatives (with the possible exception of 3G).
I have no problem Clear, in fact I am very satisfied. Excellent connection and very knowledgeable technicians. They were able to fix my connection problem in no time. I love your company!
Bought from The Woodlands Mall and those guys rocked. Got the home, and usb as well as the home phone service. International calls are easy and affordable no more phone cards.
Clear has fast internet connection. I just wish that you will hire more techie and reliable technicians.
Bought the home + wireless and in Sandy Springs at Dunwoody Place and 400 NO signal. canceled service but Clear would not refund cost of modem and card , I loose $183
I signed up for Clear on Monday and have been using it without complaint since. So far I'm really liking it. My connection speed is the one that is $30/month, it's pretty fast. I haven't tried downloading anything yet, but youtube streams and generally surfing seem to be going well.
The website is, I believe just http://www.clear.com. From there you can put in your address and see if you'd have coverage. I talked with a Clear rep at Best Buy when I was signing up for it and getting my modem, they are setting up and activating towers all over town. There are parts of Portland that don't have coverage yet, but will be getting it soon.
Hi, I'm testing the Clear service and it's much faster than my current ATT DSL in Chicago. ATT DSL in Chicago for me is problematic and I could write a book about it. Now the other thing is that Clear charges $40-52 for their 3G network service vs. $35 that the OP stated. So I don't know if charges are related to location of how that works.
Clear wireless internet provides fast internet service but there are times that I am having a hard time connecting. Hope you can fix this problem asap.
