West Des Moines, IA
Um, already one of my favorite salons in Iowa. I've lived in New York and Atlanta for three years and piece and nowhere could you find this kind of customization, expertise and warmth for the price. I??ve been to estilo twice and wasn??t impressed, I think the location is doing more for its reputation.
Here??s how my evening went: Hello and welcome?can we get you started with a pedicure, would you like to speak with one of stylists?etc.?
Extremely personal and lovely stylists. (I had Elizabeth who said she also just relocated to the area from a big city and she is not only an expert, but down-to-earth. I LOVE it!..She even gave me a consultation after my haircut to keep it looking like new).
The place is adorable. ADORABLE!...I loved the layout and the French design. The haircut was ideal, but here??s the topper a week later...
I went for a eyebrow wax before a vacation, and the experience was just fantastic (and who really uses the words, "fantastic" in the same sentence?).
I saw Laura, and I gotta tell you, this girl is nothing short of a doll. She is extremely nice and genuine. I really can't stress enough that waxing experiences, especially wax experiences, require a kind individual to make the client feel at ease. Laura is such a person and by the time the wax was over I really wanted to be her friend!
The studio itself is tiny...one little couch that overlooks Oak Street and then there are two TINY waxing/facial rooms. This studio is small, but there are never more than 6 people there at the same time, so it's a great place to go if you don't want to be bombarded by a bunch of other peeps.
Wow awesome is that! Really, I can't say enough good things the place.
For those waxing experts, Salon De Vallon uses two kinds of wax: hard wax and strip wax. You can pick whichever you prefer. I would recommend Salon De Vallon to anyone looking for a great wax and haircut!
