I have to say that I always dread buying a new car. My experience with Go Toyota was surprising. The salesperson was very knowledgeable but not pushy in any way. When I decided to buy I was able to negotiate through him and I didn't have to be passed off to a sales manager. I was very happy with the price I got but I did have the Consumer Report printout on the vehicle which I always think speeds up the negotiations. The only hard sell I got was from the Finance person who was selling the extended warranties. The vehicle was ready and everything in order when I picked it up and he spent as much time as necessary going through the paperwork and vehicle. It really was a nice experience.
I was in a hurry after looking at trucks all day and had one more stop I wanted to make before I went home. I pulled up in front of the dealership and noticed 5 or 6 salesmen mulling around in front. I went ahead and walked down to the trucks figuring someone would follow me. After 5 - 10 minutes I was ready to get some more information and walked back to the front and found them all still there visiting. As I approached no one said anything and I finally asked if anyone was working. One finally came forward and offered to help. I told him which truck I wanted to test drive but we had to walk back down to get the information then back up to get the keys. By that time I really only had time to drive it around the block. I don't really care for high pressure salespeople but I do want someone who at least seems to care. Oh well. I bought a truck from another dealership two days later.
