I love this place. If I am in the mood for the best crab cioppino, this is the place I go. You can tell how good the food is based on the fact that there is always a line that goes out the door. My trick for skipping the wait is to walk up and sit at the bar in front. I get to watch my food being made in front of me and do some serious people watching too.
Like I already said, they have the best crab cioppino I have had. The portion is HUGE and can easily be shared with someone. If you're in the mood for something else, they have an enormous selection of fresh seafood.
BTW, I do not recommend the sushi.
Wow! Seriously, Wow! I just ate the best Pollo Senora in the world.
I have been eating at this location from time to time for over 8 years. I usually get some sort of combo plate - taco, rice and beans...enchillada, rice and beans...you get the picture, but this time I had 2 hours to kill so I had the Pollo Senora (which actually says you need to wait 20-30 minutes for the preparation of the special seasonings).
Once Pollo Senora arrived, the amazing aroma of the generously seasoned chicken filled the room. I have to tell you, the chicken was cooked perfectly, the skin was crisp, and the special sauce was dripping off the outside of the chicken. I enjoyed the chicken so much that I forgot to use the tortillas it came with.
As a bonus, once you finish the chicken, try mixing your rice, beans and the rest of the sauce into a dip for the chips. If I sold this mix in stores I could make some serious money.
You have to try this place!
Without a question, my favorite Italian place in San Diego! Seriously, this is my favorite Italian place.
You may be wondering, "why is this his favorite place?" My answer to you is...I don't know. I can't tell you exactly, so let me give you a few reasons...I love how quaint the place is (it is very small), I love the food, I like the staff and their attitude toward customers, I like the feeling inside (just like I am sitting in Italy, and I like the inexpensive mediocre wine (if the wine was spectacular, this place wouldn't feel so authentically Italian).
You have to give this place a try, you will love it.
If you're in East County, you're in luck...They have sushi! They have really good sushi.
Honestly, if this place was in downtown San Diego, they would easily be able to at 30% more to their prices. These guys offer great food at reasonable prices, and some GREAT hot sauce. If you're like me and like it spicy, ask one of the sushi chefs to make it hot (habanero hot!).
I wont list all the yummy sushi rolls you can order here, because the options are endless. Try this place, you will love it.
The best Mexican food I have ever eaten. I have been eating at Lolitas Taco Shops for about 20 years. They serve amazing food.
From carne asada to nachos, this place is the greatest. By the way, the salsa is perfect.
Another amazing night at Chloe. I know you have seen me rant and rave here before, but seriously, this place is a true gem.
I had the lamb chops (again) tonight. Seriously, they were the best lamb chops I have ever eaten. No kidding, the best. I have eaten lamb here before and they were excellent- tonight they were epic.
Ah... now another nice glass of wine and perhaps a dessert.
You guys just don't know what you are missing.
Just like my reviews of PF Changs, the Cheesecake Factory is a consistently great restaurant that you can eat at in just about ever city in the United States. No matter what you order, you will get too much delicious food to eat on a plate.
I love every item on this menu, and it is huge! They actually give you a book of items to order.
Today I had brunch, starting at 10:00 AM. Word to the wise, the mall does not allow any alcohol sales before 11:00 AM, so if you want a Mimosa, make sure you get there just before 11:00 AM.

Awesome vibe, great food, great people, excellent beer (many on tap).
The Neighborhood has grown into a happening place for all the locals in San Diego Downtown. Whether you are stopping in to have a quick Chimay beer on tap, or having a juicy burger, this is the cool place to be.
If you want to watch the calories and still have a delicious burger, try the Black Bean Burger with a salad (save the calories for the beer). The Black Bean Burger is hearty and really is good.
Also, if you like beer, you will not be disappointed! There are about 20 beers on tap, and about 100 to choose from.
Wine bar and food. I must admit, I have walked by this place at least 10 times before finally walking in. I though to myself, "here is another wine bar, aren't there enough in downtown?"
I am glad I did walk in. It is definitely different than most other wine bars - they offer the ability to try wine vending machines. That's right, wine vending machines. You can try one ounce of a variety of wines. Many of us would like to try a $100-300 bottle of wine, but don't want to spend that much if we might not enjoy it. Now you can purchase a wine credit card and put it in the the machine of your choice. Put $20 on your card and try an ounce for $2-20.
The staff is great and the wine selection is good too. You have to stop in and try this great concept. The only other time I have seen anything like this was in Italy!
The perfect date place. The perfect wine place.
This was the first place I have ever been that had the wine store concept going on. What is this you ask? Picture a wine store, full of every type of wine imaginable, white, red, champagne, Italian, American, french, and any other worthy variety. Now picture tables around the perimeter of the store, with nice views of all the wine in between. And what would you pay to sit and enjoy great food, while drinking some of the fine wine around you? What if I told you that the wine was priced at about the same you would pay at a grocery store - just grab a bottle, bring it to your table and pay $5 to open it.
I had a bottle of Camus that would be $375 at Morton's - I paid $100 for it here! Don't worry, you don't have to pay $100 for a bottle, you don't even have to pay $20 for a bottle, there are hundreds to choose from.
Now the food. There is a great selection of food, from Baked Brie to spectacular boneless Beef Ribs. A great start is an order of mussels bathed in garlic broth. Order a glass of champagne, it will go well with the mussels.
I could go on and on about the food, but I recommend you explore the options on your own. You really can't go wrong with this place, it truly is fantastic.
