I first brought my 12 year old cat and 4 month old kitten to Cabrillo Pet Hospital on 10/17/11. We had just adopted the kitten from a rescue and the older cat had stopped eating due to some problems with his mouth and was having breathing problems.
I don't care how much Dr. Rose knows or how much he stays up to date on the latest in medicine for our pets. He doesn't care about the animals or their owners.
He barely listened to anything I was saying about my cat's condition. Because of the issue with his mouth, he was drooling a lot. Something that had just recently started. The breathing problem has been ongoing for years and I have been unable to find a vet that could narrow down and treat the problem. Dr. Rose actually sat there and told me that he was probably just choking on his drool! WHAT?!?! One has nothing to do with the other. At least the other vets I had been to suggested things that made sense!
He gave my cat antibiotics on 10/18. Until yesterday, my cat was back to normal--- breathing much better and eating like a champ. I brought him back in today to have his mouth checked again and Dr. Rose suggested that it may be cancer. I was completely beside myself when I heard him chuckle a few times as he explained this to me, while I stood there choking back tears.
To add insult to injury, let's not forget the whole reason I went in there today.. because my cat had stopped eating. Do you think Dr. Rose even suggested anything I could do to get him to eat again?! NO! he ran off to write up the estimate for the biopsy and I didn't see him again. Didn't care about helping me out for right now. You know, to keep my cat from starving to death. Didn't tell me he was sorry to have to give me such horrible news. Nothing.
The techs and the girls up front have been so wonderful and caring and I feel sorry for them for having to work with such a heartless human being as Dr. Rose. I will never return to this place because of him and the way he treated me.
