One star is way too generous. I went to Pats about a year and a half ago for an inspection sticker. Knowing I was going in for a sticker I had replaced any broken lights and cleaned the car out the day before. I go in and of course you can't watch while they work on the car but price in MA for an inspection sticker is $29. No tax, no extra. I was told that I got a passing sticker but he almost failed me because I had two lights out that he replaced for me and the over all cost was $40 for the inspection sticker. Apparently replacing 2 lights that aren't out is only $11. I could only imagine if a light was actually out. At first I had said no way because I replaced them yesterday and he said if I didn't pay he'd call the police. Way to bully a teenager that doesn't know any better. Stay away from them, they should have been shut down a long time ago but I'm sure there is a fair level of corruption in the city that is helping them stay open. AAA sent me something in the mail recently asking me to rate them..... I can't say enough how crappy these guys are. When you drive by them, Lay on the horn! I do.
Petes Tire barn is a great place to go for tires. I dont know how they keep there prices so low but I'm glad they do. I have bought tires here for 2 of my las 3 cars. I'm the type that researches prices first online then compares and Petes is consistantly the lowest. I usually walk in with a set number in mind and they always have excellent suggestions on what would work for me. Not all tires are the same and especially in New England just because a tire is cheap doesnt mean it will work well so ask thier opinions, they are very honest. Not just trying to make a buck. I had a Trans Am a little while back and it takes very large very specific VERY expensive tires. There is no way around it but I even save about $75-80 (A TIRE!!) when they found the BF Goodrich GForce Sports I was looking for. So even today I still do my online research and they still are able to get me exactly what I am looking for. I will say however that they are kind of a pen and paper type of place. They take your name and number and sometimes takes them a while to get back to you. Hence 4 out of 5. But a small price to pay.
This is a great place to do business. I only go to Audettes if I have an autobody related problem. They are knowledgable and the really have no problem helping you if your in a jam. I've sent my friends and family there on numerous occasions and have yet to run into a hiccup. Prices are about average but it helps to know that you can trust the people that are working on your cars. Top notch, Great people, Great service. Check them out.
