I was beyond disappointed in this place. I received a massage gift card as a valentine's present and was so excited to use it! I was turned away at Maggie's Place because the massage therapist that was working there when the gift certificate was purchased no longer worked for them and she already received the money for the gift card so they weren't willing to work with me. I don't know how a high employee turn around is my problem? If the owner had attended business school along with beauty school she may have learned that it would be smarter for the SALON to accept the money for gift certificates and then pay their hair dressers/manicurists/masseuses once the service is actually performed and a customer cashes in on their gift certificate! They offered no alternate options for me, apologies, or discounted services for the $75 gift card that is now worthless. They actually told me to go to the bar down the road where their former masseuse now works as a bartender and ask her to honor the certificate since they wouldn't....
The tatted girl's name is Crystal and she is awesome! I have my P.O.Box here because our family business is located in Pismo and it is the most convenient place to have our mail sent. The staff is always friendly and helpful in recommending the cheapest shipping method, box to use, etc. They even have a little box of toys for your kids to play with while you wait so they don't get restless...you don't see that at the post office. I even started paying my bills through them because I am there so often! Great one-stop spot for someone like me, I can't imagine the bad review on this page has much truth to it.
Food is good and certain items on the menu are reasonably priced, but the service is HORRIBLE! I can't believe a business can stay afloat in this economy with such rude employees. I'm ashamed to admit I will continue to go there if I'm in a hurry and craving bagels, just because the food is delicious and it's the only drive-thru breakfast joint I like in the area.
Unlike Amy, I have experienced excellent customer service at this business. I guess it all depends on which day of the week you go because it seems like the owners work mon-fri and the employees on the weekends probably don't seem as interested as the owners, but still were friendly and helpful in my opinion. I wouldn't consider this a ''dive'' either. The building is small but has 8 lanes to bowl, tons of video games, multiple settee areas for groups to hang out (including couches and TVs to watch sporting events) and a full menu and bar to eat at! If you are going in to order an espresso drink be sure to ask for Jason cause he makes them the best. Although there is usually a wait for bowling when it's busy, it's totally worth it because it's the cheapest thing you can do for entertainment as a family! The place is also decorated really cute and retro :)
Unfortunately I agree with the others that any 5 star ratings are fake and probably posted by the owner. I find it fishy that most positive reviews are posted a week apart and by people who havent reviewed any other businesses or only reviewed dental offices....also kinda fishy for them to get good reviews when they are overpriced, unfriendly, and lie about where they get thwir dogs from and what breed they are! I bought an "australian shepherd" pup there over 3 years ago for $500, turns out hes mixed with a rat terrier! I love my dog and im not going to get rid of him just because of his breed but the ONLY reason I spent that much money on a dog rather than rescuing one was because I was pregnant and wanted my baby to grow up with an aussie puppy just like I had as a kid and this pup just so happened to look exactly like the one I had years ago.
