It's nice for kids, but not spectacular and it's obscenely overpriced.
If you're a family of four, prepare to shell out $70 for the adults ($35 a piece) and $60 for the kids ($30 a piece), plus $10 for parking. So that's $140 to get you in the door. If you're on a budget, you can forgo any overpriced food or souvenirs (but then if you're on a budget, you can't afford to go to the aquarium anyway).
They no longer offer family passes, so forget about trying to save money by buying a membership.
Once you're inside, you'll find a nice array of ocean creatures - lots of fish, cute penguins, some enormous sharks - but the experience is just...lacking something. I kept thinking "that's it?" It seems like there ought to be a lot more to it. Small kids will love it, but older kids might get bored. We found we were ready to go home after about two hours.
I took my kids here a few years ago when adult tickets cost $26 and kids tickets were $19. I thought it was expensive then, and I was shocked at the increase in just three years.
