Trenton Jewelers
My husband and I became acquainted with this business within the last few months. We wanted to get some rings re-sized and my husband let me pick the jeweler, because he didn't know where to go. My parents bought jewelry from here many years ago, but I had never been there, so I said, why not go see what this place is about. Well, we love the place! Very nice people! We bought a ring here that is absolutely breathtaking and I get compliments on it all the time. Prices are not any more expensive than any other jeweler; but Wayne and staff have unique jewelry that you won't find at the mall stores. Try this place when you are looking for that special ring or other special piece for the special person in your life. Wayne will tell you all about his jewelry, he's very proud of his store and he should be, it's a great place!
Mandarin Kitchen
My husband and I have been patronizing Mandarin Kitchen for years. They give you massive amounts of food for low cost. When we eat there, we order the egg drop soup with our meal. When we carry out, we don't get the soup, because by the time we get home, the soup has spilled; the containers they use don't seal well, even though they wrap the soup container with saran wrap. Anyway, as for other foods, the egg rolls are wonderful. I admit I'm not adventurous when it comes to Chinese food. I alternate between ordering the Pepper Steak, the Polynesian Chicken or the Sweet and Sour Chicken. I used to order the Almond Chicken, but the gravy was too much and so I stopped. Quantity of food is such that you can get two or three meals out of what you order. Waitstaff is always pleasant and happy to see us, very good service.
Mom's Kitchen
My husband and I ate there four times in the latter part of 2012. The breakfasts are okay, but, aside from prices, nothing special sets them apart from other restaurants who also serve breakfasts. Two separate lunches we ate were actually worse than breakfasts we ate. We ate there a fifth time, became ill right after eating there, and have no plans to return.
Jerry M. Butto, DO
Dr. Butto is a wonderful doctor. He listens very well and is very knowledgeable on the latest information in gynecology. I have learned more from Dr. Butto about my issues and about how to care for myself than I did from years of visits to my previous OB/GYN, who retired. I've had some menopause/menstrual issues and Dr. Butto has been great; helping me get through the problems and also getting me through three minor surgeries; he calmed my anxieties and made me feel much better. I can tell Dr. Butto anything and I feel completely comfortable doing so. He is honest with me, even if I might not want to hear what he has to say, but he's never mean in any way. Every time I've gone to his office, he's in a good mood, he has a smile on his face. I appreciated his optimism and compassion last year when I felt quite bad physically from my menstrual problems. He was quick to help with medicine appropriate for me and was nice to my husband also, explaining to him everything that was going on. My husband trusts Dr. Butto too.
Dr. Butto's office is very clean and relaxing and his staff is great, very nice and helpful.
Dix Animal Hospital
Wonderful Vet Clinic! Took my purebred Tonkinese there as a kitten a couple of years ago, as he needed to see a vet within 72 hours of purchase (as contract stipulated). Dr. C. and staff were wonderful, very gentle and gave me a schedule for my cat's shots. Was shocked that the initial well kitten visit was about $60.00...LOWEST of any vet clinic around (I called every vet clinic downriver). Went back for shots, those were a bit expensive, due to needing so many, about $138.00. My cat was neutered here too and the price was, again, the lowest around. I added a second cat to my family last year and I'm absolutely completely trusting of Dr. C. and the staff. So far, I've not had to take my cats in for anything major. The only down side, the wait can be a bit long if the clinic is busy. Also, I find that if I call before I go, I can get a general idea of how much I'll be spending. Since they DON'T ACCEPT CHECKS, I have to know how much cash to take with me to pay the bill.
Dentalworks Allen Park
First, Megan Scotta is the office manager, not one of the dentists in this practice. My husband and I chose Sears DentalWorks about four years ago and we love Dr. Hawley and the staff. Everyone is so nice. They also show concern for us, they asked about me after I had surgery on one of my feet. They just make us feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Hawley is our dentist and she's great. Never a problem understanding what work we need on our teeth and she is gentle with the dental equipment. Dawn has been our dental hygienist and she's great, too. DentalWorks is not too bad price-wise. We pay more out of pocket than we used to, but that's due to a forced change in our insurance (through my husband's job). DentalWorks takes Flexible Spending accounts as payment for care and we've not had any problem with our dental account. Meagan is great on keeping us up on anything that may be happening with our insurance and she explains any confusing things that come up on bills we get in the mail. OVERALL--A+++
BoRics Hair Care
I went to Bo-Rics last summer because I had left a stylist who wasn't listening to me about how I wanted my hair cut. I didn't know where to go and saw the shop on Eureka Rd. and decided to go in. The first time there, my cut was okay, nothing special...BUT...I decided to give the place another chance and I'm glad I did. I met Deborah S., the manager last year, and she did such a great job styling my hair, she is now the only one who cuts my hair. I just went to BoRics a couple weeks ago and asked her for her opinion--I liked the previous style she'd given me, but wanted something new. She gave me an angled cut. I told her before she started styling that I didn't want the last strands next to my face to be on a severe diagonal angle, so she modified it; made it less severe--and it looks great! I've gotten complements and my husband loves my hairstyle too. Prices are reasonable and they carry some good shampoos and conditioners, though the prices of those are a little high compared to grocery stores.
