Ali Alijanian, DDS
I received the full dental replacement treatment from Alijanian with four deep implants on both top and bottom. The surgery went fine. The problem is that this office prefers only one day clients who will pay a lot of money. I paid over 25,000.00 up front.
I had the procedure almost a year and a half ago, and so far I've had exactly two and a half months of pleasure with everything intact. There has been nothing but trouble with the prosthetics. The permanent dentures weren't as strong the temporaries, and front teeth broke off both the lower and upper. My regular dentist removed the permanents to send them in for a fix, but he had trouble with the screws and the abutments in that they stripped very easily. I have since learned that is a typical problem with this procedure and that most dentists who provide this procedure are familiar dealing with the problem.
My regular dentist has made repeated calls to Alijanian for help from both him and his appliance technician. Over the last month I have endured being unable to go out. My upper temp is currently only fastened to one implant and I fear that sufficient torque will make the implant unusable in the future. I have a temp denture on the bottom that my own dentist cannot remove to replace with the repaired permanent. I can't eat and I'm rapidly losing weight on a purely liquid diet. I can't talk unless I hold the upper denture in place. I have to go in to my own dentists office twice a day to have it tightened.
While my own dentist has made almost daily phone calls asking for help, Alijanian has been completely unresponsive. He did invite us down to his office briefly, but he was going to be busy with another patient he had likely just taken 25 grand from and only gave me the briefest of looks. His technician also gave me a very brief look, then took a few moments to lecture me that if my dentures broke, it must have been my fault somehow. He told my dentist that he should just cut off the abutments (of course that would mean destroying the denture), he mumbled a few things, then both he and Alijanian left. My dentist tried again, but to no avail.
Alijanian finally said that he would lend his office for his technician to provide a fix, but the technician no longer returns phone calls. I've had to seek help elsewhere, but I've been told no one can see me for at least another week.
If you go see Dr. Alijanian, he will charismatically tell you about his great skills, will insist that you pay him up front, and will perform very well in his one day of surgery. But you should pray that no problems develop. At that point Alijanian already has your money, and he's setting up the next big pay off. Any problems are strictly your own. He can't be bothered.
