In celebration of our Mother's before Mother's Day weekend, we invite all of our wonderful Mom's to have breakfast with their children at school.

We apply what we learn in class to the real world! We use math when we go to the store to buy things. We read when we go to a restaurant to order from a menu. What other connections did we make today?

We use inventiveness in thinking to solve daily problems in class. How do I support a tall tower of blocks? If there is an object blocking my path, how do get around it? So many problems to solve! Better put on my thinking cap.

One of our favorite centers to explore is our sociodramatic play center. We can dress up as differnt community helpers, make food from around the world, or pretend to care care of our classroom babies.

During outside time, we learn to interact with peers by using positive language and taking turns. Each class has two 30 minute outdoor times daily.

Students may work on fine motor development, pencil grip practice, letter and number word practice or posture. Handwriting practice can come in a variety of interest lead activities and with a multitude of materials.

Daily literacy can be integrated into learning centers, morning meetings or eve in socio-dramatic play. We see the world through literature, practice phonological awareness and increase vocabulary.

Nutrition is integrated into all subject matters at The Goddard School. We may increase vocabulary by identifying fruits and vegetables, explore our 5 senses while eating lunch with our class, and identify shapes, color and texture of various foods.

Ms. Janet and her friendly ponies are back again for this Summer Camp favorite activity. Children will have the opportunity to ride ponies in the side yard today.

Students learn the science of bubbles and have so much fun exploring through age appropriate activities. While some students study the light spectrum by observing bubbles, other students are learning why they float. We can all run and pop the the bubbles!

Kristen Gibson is back at Goddard again with her spectacular STEAM driven programs. We may explore dinosaurs, jump aboard a steam engine, rescue a princess from a tower in a fairytale world. Rock It Science never disappoints!
