boarded at this facility for 1 1/2 years. At first owner was accommodating, however over time found ways to nickle and dime the boarders. Last year when the weather was severe with wind chill -20, we asked to leave our horses in their stalls as advised by our trainer and veterinarian. Owner tried to charge additional fees to leave them in when all surrounding boarding facilities had the horses in. Continued to feed the horses contaminated hay. Needless to say all 9 horses in our group have now left the facility.

I agree with the first reviewer. The trainer/manager here is very unprofessional dealing with people. I also had a disappointing experience with her. She tried to sell me a horse who had very bad hind leg problems. I was a novice horse buyer. I feel she was taking advantage of my ignorance. Good thing my vet opened my eyes before I wasted over $3,000.

I had the exact opposite experience with Carolyn than the negative reviewer. I found her to be a warm, professional, caring horse woman who made me feel comfortable instantly. I felt very safe riding in her facility. I would buy a horse from her in a second.

I went to this facility when I was looking to buy a Paso Fino. When I was there, I told the owner, Carolyn, that it is very important that the horse I buy is level-headed. I was particularly concerned about bucking. Though I've ridden horses most of my life, I am not interested in purchasing a horse with dangerous issues. This is because when I was a little kid, I was thrown from an unruly horse who started bucking uncontrollably with no warning and I was badly injured. I explained this to Carolyn. She seemed to be sympathetic. She pointed me towards a little buckskin Paso and she assured me that though he was young, he was a good reliable horse and a good match for me. I tried the horse in her arena and he seemed to be ok, though Carolyn insisted that I use a bridle without a bit, which did seem a little odd. Nevertheless, a few days later I came back to the farm with my vet to do a health check before purchase. My vet wanted to see how the horse moved under saddle. So, I got on the horse, started around the arena and then all of a sudden, the horse started to buck like a bronco. And with the simple bitless bridle I could not control him. Long story short, I ended up falling off his side. It was really a terrifying experience. And guess what. Carolyn was LAUGHING. She didn't ask how I was. Or apologize for the fact that she had wholeheartedly assured me that this horse never bucks. The callous indifference that she showed towards a potential buyer was shocking. I strongly recommend for anyone looking for a good Paso Fino to stay far, far away from the poorly named First Class Horse Complex.
