The Floor Store

My experience at the floor store was wonderful! The sales department was professional and friendly. I love my new carpet.

I was referred to The Floor Store by a friend of mine and I'm so happy with the results. I worked with their designer Jill and she helped me with flooring and paint and fabric , and I didn't have to pay anything extra for the service. She measured for me , sat down and talked to me about everything and answered every question. I bought literally a whole house of hardwood and carpet and was well under budget thanks to Jill who steered me to the right sale day. I'd recommend her and The Floor Store to everyone! Thanks Jill!!!!

We went to the Floor Store to purchase a new set of tiles to replace a border in our guest bath. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. Their prices were pretty reasonable and the quality of the marble selection

The Floor Store was great. The sales people were pleasant and professional. The installers were on time and did a wonderful job putting in our hardwood floors. I would recommend them to everyone.

My wife and I recently went to the Floor Store to buy new hardwood flooring for our dining room/kitchen. The manager there, Don, greeted us as soon as we walked in the door and made us feel very welcome. We explained to him what we were looking for and he asked us questions that we hadn't even thought about. My wife fell in love with some of their Acacia hardwood and after Don answered all of my concerns about it I fell in love with it to! We had our own contractor set aside to install the wood but I asked about installation as well and it far beat the price our contractor was going to charge! It only took a week for the wood to come in and two days after that we had our flooring installed. It looks amazing! I'm so glad we decided to go with their installers. They were very professional guys how went out of their way to clean up after themselves. I am going recommend to all of my friends and family to the Floor Store and we are definitely going back to Don when we do the rest of our house!

I received quotes from three floor stores in the Dublin/Pleasanton area for Armstrong Altura tile. The Floor Store was several hundred dollars less than the others so I decided to go with them. My experience, unlike some other reviewers,

I would not recommend that store for anything that you need, being tiles, laminate or hardwood floor, even setting material.

Although they have quite a good selection, everything is overpriced beyond reasonable.

They sold me some Laticrete epoxy grout for $150. Later on, I found it at Lowes for about $35. I usually use inexpensive sanded grout and didn't know about Laticrete products. The salesman got me into how great a product it is, especially it is stain resistant and requires no sealer, hence the high price. It is indeed a great product but it needs not be expensive for that.

Same thing with the mortar. I paid thrice the regular price.

I needed some extra tiles to finish the job and having learnt my lesson, I ordered from The Home Depot which in turn, ordered from the manufacturer. I was stunned at how much I had wasted buying from these guys. I paid the Floor Store $20 for some designer tiles sold by the piece. I ordered them from The Home Depot for $6 a piece.

And it goes on... In the end, with all the money I could have spared by not buying from the Floor Store, I could have had a contractor do the job in my stead.

The irony! I actually chose to do the tile job to save me some money.

We first saw The Floor Store at the Pleasanton Home Show this past spring. They were offering a promotion that locked the price of what you purchased if you paid them a $100 deposit. We had recently purchased a home which was in need of flooring.
We went to the Dublin store a number of times but had difficulty getting anyone to really work with us. We were shown the samples but were not told which of the products we were shown would be the price we had 'deposited'. After about three trips to this store and each time leaving with nothing we bought our flooring elsewhere.
Since then I've called three times to get my deposit back. After reading the earlier review about a similar subject, I'm wondering if I'll ever get it back...

We wanted to get some estimates of hardwood floor covering before we jumped into our project and the Floor Store was very nice about showing us what they had in stock and giving us an estimate. They also suggested different types of hardwood floor coverings that we might be interested in. They in no way pressured us to buy through them.

I'm writing to commend the Floor Store on providing outstanding Sales and Customer Service.

In particular, I would like to mention Rachelle who guided my wife and I through the process of selecting the right materials, making sure that we got the best possible price and handling our purchase with care and courtesy. Thank you Rachelle.

If we asked for any extra attention to details, such as removing marks or smudges left from the adhesive and touching up a few spots on a wall with some paint, they never questioned our concerns and always went the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction. Thanks guys.

Don't settle for anything less than this kind of service. We would be willing to recommend the Floor Store to friends, family and acquaintances.

This is the only flooring store that we went to the charged $35 to take a couple samples home for color matching. When we returned them the sales people just ignored us (we don't look like we have money to spend I guess). Well - it was there loss as we purchased 1,200 sq of top of line Brazilian Cherry Wood and 400sq ft of Laminate from a competitor who was the nicest guy and very helpful (Dublin Carpets on Village Parkway). When we finally got the sales person to talk to us (no they were not busy, two were talking to each other, one was eating, one was helping a customer) they were rude and acted bother that we were disturbing them. Then they did not know how to credit our card for returning the samples and said their machine was not working but they would credit it latery. They never did. Went back to the store 2 more times to try and get the credit resolved, it never was, always some excuse or delay. I gave up. They got my $35, but I hope it was worth it to them as they lost and $11,000 sale and a few referals. As an insurance agenct I meet a lot of clients who are remodeling, or have a fire or water claim and I send them all to Dublin Carpets. So I have to thank the Florr Store for that - I was so happy with Dublin Carpets and their Installer (Leo at floors by Leo).
