Since Tart's launch it has been recognized for its instant emotional connection with the neighborhood. The owners Ryan and Stuart have lived in the neighborhood for 15 years. They wanted to open a family business that their three children, who go to the local grade school, could grow up with. The store's decoration of patron's hand prints graphically illustrates Tart's connection with the community.
The Clover Coffee machine has gained a cult following for the heavenly coffee it produces. Making only one cup of coffee at a time, the Clover uses precise temperature and steep time to coax the best flavor out of freshly roasted beans. The resulting cup of coffee is tailor made for that individual customer. Tart also offers hot mini donuts made fresh on the spot with the donut robot, a cousin to the famed robot living in Pike Place Market, Seattle.
Tart exists as a hub for the community - a family friendly joint, painted a cheerful shade of yellow, for kids and grownups to chat and connect over dessert.
