I've been going here regularly for a partial foil (and occasional cut) for well over a year. It took forever to find someone I could trust in the city, I'm picky and any time I tried to find a good Aveda salon in NYC I was either robbed

I went there few days ago again for a color and cut. It was early, and the place had just opened and Alex gave me a great service, as usual.\r
I didn't have to wait long, actually I probably didn't wait for more then 5 minutes but I did

Pros: Great head massages!!!

Cons: Can't really think of one right now!

I have gone to several different hair salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would cut/color the way I want, or even close for that matter. I waited at the reception area at the salon for my friend that was getting her hair done by Alex. I was so impressed with the way he had cut my friends hair (the color is beautiful too) that I made the appointment two days later. Alex took his time to help me find the perfect colors (I am extremely picky) and I cannot thank him ENOUGH for her fabulous sense of style, WHAT A TALENT!!!
I found my permanent hair dresser, and I am so excited and relieved!Thank you ALEX! Keep up the amazing work!!!! He's the reason I go back! And it doen't hurt that he's very cute!!!

I went to the salon yesterday, Christian gave me the best color I ever had (1/2 head of highlights) and a great great haircut despite the challenge (a bad haircut that didn't want to go away).
I had been feeling discouraged about my hair for the last 4-5 years, not knowing what to do with it... And I had an interview this AM, so I needed a boost of confidence.
Christian totally did it for me. He's brilliant with the color, he really listened and the result was outstanding: super natural like I wanted, but really dimensional and sophisticated.
I'll definitely recommend him to any of my friends.
Oh and yes, the hand massage felt amazing.

Pros: color/highlights, service, products, quality

Cons: mmm... nothing

He is pleasant but has no business coloring hair. Twice he pulled through the color on my hair, which is curly and very porous. This was in the fall. I cannot bleach my hair because it would be very damaged, so to correct his misstep, I have had hours ($$$) or treatments to reverse what he did. My hair is still too dark and it will not be back to the way it was until for probably a year or more. If I had colored my own hair with Clairol for $7, I would have done a better job.

Cons: Alex for color

Don't know what the previous person is talking about. I have been going to the Aveda Salon and getting my hair done by Alex for several months now. I always have a full head of highlights and a haircut and leave feeling like a million bucks. People at work, friends and family compliment my hair over and over again. I am sure the previous review was written by a malicous person. Alex, I am sure would go above and beyond to make sure everyone leaves his chair happy and looking beautiful.
