Sutra Oc

******I think most of the 5-Star reviews are fake. They were all posted on 7/25/09. What are the odds of that? Come on, give us a break! ******

Despite hearing rumors that the people at Sutra are not nice, I decided to put us on the guest list anyway because we were having dinner nearby. ~

Wow, I learned quickly that the rumors were true! We were about 5 min late for the guest list - our group consisted of 6 girls and 1 guy. They told us they would not honor the guest list but, after much negotiation, would let the girls in for half. After again showing him my group of hot chicks and only ONE guy and asking him to please honor the list, we weren't that late he said he "didn't need the business". Those were his words! Was this door manager off his rocker? Not even in Vegas with our size group and girl to guy ratio, would the girls ever pay. We turned around to leave since we had other choices that night. ~

We were stopped shortly by two guys coming in with a table who overheard the whole thing and told him to let us all in under their table because it was ridiculous for them to try to make us pay. The door hesitated but let us in anyway.~

The place wasn't very crowded inside, the gogo dancers were cute, and the music sounded great on their sound system. That's about all that was good about the club. ~

They have expressionless security persons about every 20 feet around the venue creating a negative vibe and making you feel unwelcome. Every 20 feet is not an exaggeration. I'm not sure why so much security is needed in there. The dance floor is small surrounded by a mass amount of real estate devoted to tables. We left after about 15 minutes.~

Bottom line, from the door to the inside, Sutra are jerks to the end - unless you have a table (I'm assuming). I am an avid club goer that goes in (depending on the venue) with the promoter, VIP, bottle service, or simply on the guest list. A club should make all patrons feel thankful that you choose them for the evening no matter how you got in - guest list or VIP. I will never support this venue in any way shape or form.~

The rumors are true people.

sutra was our top choice for a friends 21st. she had a night to remember, or forget what ever is better with a 21st. the bartenders were great to her all night. Strange mens room tho

this is the place for a girls night out. we got a limo and headed down here for some bottle service. it was perfect. the waitress was perfect and the VIP area was sooo cool. we hung out with Jamie Foxx!

heard that this place was all new inside and they were having DJ AM there so we had to go! he was amazing and did an MJ tribute. coming tomorrow for the US Open party!

found this place on here the other day and decided to give it a try. we loved it. no creepers like la! haha. DO THE GUESTLIST! it makes life so much easier when you get there!

ended up here by accident, but it is now my place in OC. we have been here numerous times, and nothing else comes close to an LA club in OC but this place. THURSDAYS are the S***

Come here the other night for an etnies party that was also part of the US open stuff. we had a blast and partied with surfers all night. left a little tipsy, but didnt drive so its chill. we are coming back on saturday!

heard bad things in the past, but a friend recently told me it was totally different and he was right. this place is super classy and has more lights than a christmas tree. give it a shot

came here with the boys in a cab and partied the night away with Unwritten Law! they did an acoustic set that was freaking awesome! sad i missed hooba!

We came here after the angels game a few weeks ago and had a great night. They had drink specials this night and they were great. try the wet beso shot. it wont disappoint

Haha JK. came here with some friends and partied hard. great drinks and beautiful people! i would suggest giving it a try. so much closer than LA and just as fun

I've been 3 times in the past month & have enjoyed myself every time! It seems to always be busy, so we get there kinda early to avoid any chaos. Love the DJ's & the new look inside is refreshing.. doesn't feel like the old shenanigans at all! From a local's P.O.V. I highly recommend getting dolled up and going to get your groove on :)

I got bottle service at Sutra and it was the best experience at I night club I ever had! You can get a decent deal compared to other nightclubs in the area. Plus the music and entertainment are always the best...Not to mention the hot waitresses!

Great place for drinks and dancing! The music will definitely get you up and dancing and there are top class dj's every weekend. They have great bottle service and every where you look you will find a beautiful orange county native. If you are looking for a good time then Sutra is the place to be!

If you have a few bucks to spend this is an okay spot to hang out. I found it to be a bit overpriced and the staff a bit stuffy but if that's what you're looking for, you found it.

Restaurant/ Bar & Dance club. This is the place to go if you like hot chicks and you're not on a budget. Get there early to avoid the long wait in line. Dancing started @ 10pm, crowded small dance floor. Great for singles. $7 bottle beers $10 mixed drinks.

PROS: Beautiful crowd, cool music, nicely decorated
CONS: Expensive!

my friends and i recently went to the white party at sutra. it is held on the first day of summer. the entire club is redecorated in white and everyone who attends has to wear all white. on the last day of summer they have a black party and everyone has to wear black and it is decorated in all black. the music is fantastic. it is so much fun to dance. the food is terrific (sundays and tuesdays i think they are open for dinner and thursdays through saturdays you can come for dinner and then go to the club. it can be a little pricy, but it is good. the decorations are phenomenal. they did a great job designing the club. there are always a ton of people and the waitresses are great. melissa is my favorite. definately a fun place to go. i think thursday is the best day to go
