The service department at Scranton motors is always the worst experience. The service people are rude and don't care if you leave there happy or not. They just dismiss your complaints and don't even try to do anything to make you leave there happy. There's not many dealerships around, but very soon if things go back to how they were before, Myself as well as a group of my friends will be open to traveling as far as we can tolerate just to get away from this place. The only saving grace there seems to be to this terrible dealership is a new female, who I believe is a manager. After sitting and waiting for a simple oil change for 2 hours and being late for my appointment and having my entire day already ruined I was extremely upset and voiced my displeasure to the service person i was dealing with. He just kept apologizing with no emotion, trying to ignore what i was saying altogether and not trying to make me happy at all saying "well things happen there's not much I can do about it" I said yes there is something you can do about it!! This is ridiculous I am never coming to this dealership ever again! You have no concept of how to treat a customer, and I was over charged and charged for something I never authorized or signed for either! All this gentlemen said was ok and continued stapling my paperwork. Again voicing my dissatisfaction with the entire situation a young blonde woman i believe her name was karen who was the only person that appeared to be a manager, overheard how upset i was and stepped in immediately apologizing and took over. She then said something that in all the years I've been there that nobody had ever said. That she values and appreciates my business and does not want me to leave unhappy and wants to do whatever she can to make things right for me!! Oh my god! Finally they got somebody that is an actual manager and knows how to treat customers and fix things! I repeated to her my displeasure with the whole experience and she listened and actually cared. She then said that for my inconvenience and the unpleasant experience that she would take care of my bill. I then asked about the courtesy inspection that I'm told is done at every visit so I can see what the condition of everything is in or if I have anything I need to plan for soon. Seeing the gentlemen I dealt with never went over this supposed courtesy inspection and I never received a copy of it. So she apologized and printed it out for me and went over everything with me and the repairs I would need soon, which I would have never known seeing I wasn't even given this paper or advised on anything! That's dangerous! Again the female manager apologized and assured me that changes will be made and that she is going to do everything in her power to fix things so that I won't have an experience like that again and that she wants me to return to the dealership and to be happy with each and every visit. My god, they finally have somebody there that knows what they are doing and knows how to treat customers, i can't believe it. She even walked me out to my car and opened my door for me!! I was going to leave and never come back again and tell the few friends I have that are customers as well to never come back! At the end of my experience my mind was changed and I left happy and will tell my friends ( who haven't had many good experiences either) that things are finally changing for the better and I will be more than happy to return to the dealership as long as she is there! It was a pleasure to deal with her, thank you!

I just bought a 2011 GMC Sierra from Jacob Doolittle. What a pleasant experience. From the moment I walked in the door he was there to listen to my concerns, listen to what I was looking for, and work with me to find it. He was very accessible either via email or phone and quick to respond. Nothing was hidden. He as well as Marian, F&I Manager, were very upfront with everything. I would like to enthusiastically endorse Jim Sydoriak and Scranton Motors. Frankly I was not looking forward to avoiding sales pitches and so forth but Jim never pressured me into anything and was very helpful and knowledgible about the regal I was interested in. I did purchase the car and Jim has continued to keep in touch and go over some additional details and features on the car.

Shopping for a car is usually not a pleasant experience, however, I found Scranton Motors and their staff, especially Jacob Doolittle, to be genuine and very eager to please. I think it is safe to say after exploring at Valenti and on-line, Jacob's presence and genuine efforts caused us to return to Scranton and make our purchase of a 2011 Cadillac SRX. The car is beautiful and a joy to drive. Scranton Motors is a Car Dealership that others should take note of. I have only owned 8 vehicles in my life and each one was bought from a Car Dealership. Never have I walked into a dealership and walked out with a car on the same day. It's always come back tomorrow and we can finish the paperwork. Or we have to search for a couple of days to find your car. Scranton Motors has an extensive inventory from $ to $$$. They don't attempt to sell you the most expensive car. They actually ask you what you are looking for. If you are unsure they introduce you to what they have in stock. Did you know that Scranton is a family run business? Incredible in today's economic environment of conglomerates. Scranton Motors is a class act. I was able to talk to Service folks without getting the look of what are you doing on this side of the building. The finance folks talk to you as a consumer. They are honest working people and wouldn't try and make you do something they wouldn't want offered to themselves. The owner actually came up and introduced himself like he was your next door neighbor. He is proud of his employees and appreciates his customers. This is definitely a place to buy a Car or Truck!

i spent five months combing listings for a specific vehicle (avalanche) and had even contacted a dealer i found on ebay in st. louis. i had a certain price in mind and a mileage range and admittedly, was probably a little more rigid than need be.

regardless i found my target truck low and behold only a town over after someone had traded it in. i went over to take a look the day i found it online. that is where my enthusiasm ended.

i had not spent more that two minutes looking at the truck when i was approached. fine, whatever, its a car dealership, thats how it goes. the salesman started out strong immediately with comments on how nice it was, and before he HAD EVEN ASKED MY NAME OR TOLD ME HIS asked me how much i was looking to spend.

of course this ruffled me a bit so i asked for a few minutes to look it over, to which he replied "COME GET ME WHEN YOURE READY TO TEST DRIVE" and walked away. i honestly did not have to since he came back 5mins later.

at this point i was willing to put up with this crap since i had been looking for so long and in my heart i wanted the truck bad enough, so i took the test drive. HE HAD YET TO ASK ME MY NAME. i suppose he knew it from the license, but thats kind of not the point.
the test drive went as can be expected however, was pressured (again, dealer i guess) and when we got back i told him i was interested.

we managed to get within a grand of each other, but i will say this. i walked away from the truck completely when i was told i was BEING CHEAP AND JUST BUY IT. that is word for word.

i HIGHLY recommend steering clear of this dealership

(btw, i did find my avalanche, and paid 600 less for the same exact year, only 2k more miles)
