Even though this facility is right down the road from my home, I would definitely drive to a St. Louis hospital unless it were a life-threatening emergency. My experiences with Anderson have always been a mess - lost charts, wrong referrals, late physicians. I know they can offer decent care - but when fantastic services, bedside manner, and facilities are available in St. Louis, it is worth the drive to me and my family.

The hospital is probably not somewhere I'd ever go unless it was a life or death situation. It's just down the road from my house, but, frankly, St. Louis is not too far either. The volunteers at Anderson are ill-informed and cannot offer any assistance as far as hospital policies and procedures, and the hospital itself only offers the bare minimum in care.

Anderson offers a nice hospital, a nice gift shop, and a good cafeteria. However, they do lack some things. The parking is frightening, you could drive around for 1/2 hour, and never find a space. Once inside you are treated like a mouse in a maze. The have also thought on more than once occasion that the staffing looked less than professional. All of these things don't make for a bad hospital, but they would make me drive the distance in a non emergency situation.
