PNC Bank

I have a checking account with National City in Kalamazoo but I live in South Carolina in the winter. I sent my son, who lives in Kalamazoo a check written against my National City account for his birthday. He went to a National City bank branch in Kalamazoo to cash the check which was drawn on my National City checking account but he either had to open an account at National City or pay a $10.00 fee to cash the check. How in the world can they justify such a fee? If other banks charge this ridiculous fee then ok but if not, good bye National City. NW

We opened our accounts with National City and they did everything wrong. From our initial check order which was wrong numbers, incorrect phone etc. to waiting another 4 weeks for them to correct it. They never return phone calls all inquiries into what was going on with our check order was us calling them. They seem to feel that when you open accounts with them they own you & your finances and can treat you like dirt. We tried to speak with the management about the lack of service and have been continually ignored.
National city is the WORST BANK in HISTORY!

The fees are high, the service is often poor and I ended up closing my accounts there and switching to a credit union with no minimum balances and no fees. This resulted in quite a savings for our family just in the monthly account fees. I think this bank is highly overrated. I opened my account with First of America and once National City took over, everything changed for the worse. I definitely do not recommend them to people.
