If you are a serious rock hound or jeweler in the Portland area, Ed's is worth the drive. They have everything the serious beader, jewelry maker or rock collector needs. All this at very reasonable prices. Don't get raped by your local bead store. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you get what you need from their vast inventory.

I love the people who are so nice, knowledgeable and interesting that work in this business. It feels more like a cool museum of local geology with the piles of rocks out back and all the information inside there. I highly recommend it to anyone for a fun place to just look around on a rainy afternoon. It has great tools and machines for cutting, sanding and polishing rocks if you are into that too.
