This salon is a joke. I ran into a friend of mine who said Jay, an awesome stylist, is leaving Bang and going to Idenity. This was music to my ears. Jay is such an awesome stylist, I can't wait to go see him at a salon that is as good as he is. So for all of you who have wanted to see him, but did not want to go to a gothic salon, can now go! So happy!

Bang was exactly what i was looking for! I'm so tired of southern bell hair and they gave me the more edgy look I wanted. Amy is amazing. My hair has been every color and style in the book and I've been to many stylists but Amy is the first person to hit what I wanted right on the nail. No one is allowed near my head except for Amy!

A friend recommended me to Bang salon a few months ago-I was quickly annoyed by the tone that I heard on the telephone when I called to make an appointment. I was told that I would be seeing Mike(y) for my cut and color.
I was hesitant, but chose to show up for my appointment, nonetheless. When I pulled up into the parking lot, I was greeted by a logo featuring guns and bullets. I am a very open-minded individual, but I had my doubts. It was not until I entered the salon that my fears came to fruition.
The front desk clerk, Janet, was extremely rude and nasty. She hardly took enough time out of what seemed to be an extremely slow point(I was the only client in the salon) to offer me something to drink. Her scowl was extremely unwelcoming. I quickly realized that she was the person that I had spoken with on the telephone.
My cut is mediocre, but my color is unacceptable. I have never had streaky highlights in my life, nor have I ever had to instruct a stylist as he or she was doing my hair. I am relatively easy to please, but my color was unacceptable.
I went home and cried. Even my husband(who has never told me that I look anything but beautiful)told me that my hair looked like that of a teenager. I am a professional, and I had to go to work the next day looking like a zebra.
My hair has been fixed now. I had to do away with my highlights and go to a solid color. I am highly disappointed and regret that I didn't trust my first instinct. I could have gone to the mall for a better color job. My cut is much shorter than I asked for-I have to let it grow out before I let anyone touch it again.

How can you argue with a salon where the people are funny and talented? I truly enjoy going to see Amy every few weeks. My hair (what is left of it) is not a hard job, but she takes her time and makes sure everything is perfect. I highly recommend the place and the person!

The first time I went to Bang, I wasn't super-impressed, mainly because I didn't click with my stylist. The next time I went though, I asked for somebody who specifically works with curly, thick hair, and then I got directed to Amy. Normally I have a really hard time finding somebody who can deal with my hair, and cut it how I want it. Amy is AMAZING, and she tamed my crazy hair into a beautiful cut. Not only did she do a wonderful job cutting my hair, but she is also incredibly personable and I feel like I've really gotten to know her over the course of my appointments. In fact, I'm sure I'll follow her, if she ever leaves!

I use to see Todd when this salon was under a different name. I loved him. I just moved back to Greenville, and wanted to get my hair done by him. Found out Todd Inc had been changed to Bang, and Janet still ran the salon. I had heard some drama went down and Todd was no longer there, but I figured Janet would tell me where he was. First I was told they didn't know where he was, then when I had my sister call to ask they told her where he was, or where they thought he was, (he actually ended up at another salon.) My complaint is about how unhelpful they were and rude. I never remembered the salon being stuck up, but I guess since Todd has left so has the "bang" of the salon. Sorry to speak so bad about this salon now, but over the phone they are very rude.

Being new to the area and desperate for a trim I began searching for a good salon. I chose Bang as they actually have online reviews which average five stars. I actually contacted another local salon via email inquiring of their services and never received a response. I contacted Bang and made an appointment with one the junior stylists named Mikey. I was a bit reserved at first as I am always afraid all my hair will be chopped off but once I got there and began the process it was completely painless and Mikey gave me probably one of the best cuts I ever had. He even recommended products to style and demonstrated them. He may not have a master stylist title but he does excellent work. I would recommend him to anyone.

Bang Salon is perfect! Not only are all of the staff members genuinely friendly and professional, but the atmosphere of the Salon itself is way cool. The salon doubles as an art gallery featuring work from many talented artists.

Speaking of talented artists, Jay is an unmatched talent. I've gone through many phases in how I wear, and what color my hair is. Jay always exceeds my expectations and is always offering interesting options for my ever changing style.

It's not as cheap as Great Clips and other strip mall hair butcheries, but you definitely get what you pay for!

Amy was AWESOME!! For about six months I've been wanting to cut my hair short but I haven't had the guts. I read all the great reviews and had a good feeling about Bang Salon. Amy walked me through the process, studied my hair's texture and thickness and showed me different ways to style it. She took her time and was very detailed. I love my new style!! I thought I had found a stylist but that was before Amy. Thanks so much for my new style.

Jay was the absolute best and I thought I had found my hairdresser for LIFE. He does exceptional work and is a total sweetheart. Unfortunately Janet, the owner should take a few pointers from her fabulous staff. After three visits, each of which ran close to $200, I still felt unwelcome. She took my money, booked my next appointment, and offered me water all very professinally but in a manner that made me feel like I was in the wrong place. It was like I wasn't cool enough to be part of her clintele. I'm older and look like what I am, a middle aged mom. Not glitzy, or trendy, or edgey. I may not look like one but for the bucks I was dropping she should havetreated me like a rock star. The staff more than accomplished this. Janet not so much. After my third trip, I decided I would not be back. To be honest, my new stylist can't hold a candle to Jay but I get a smile when I walk in the door and that means more to me than being one of the "cool kids".

What a fabulous experience!! I recently went to Bang after my stylist of 11 years moved to another state. Although I was a new customer, I felt like I had been going to the salon for years. I was made to feel comfortable and welcome by everyone in the salon. Brooks, my new personal favorite stylist was a delight. My color and cut is fantastic! I have been stopped several times while shopping and asked who does my hair, and told either the cut, the color or both were great! It feels so nice to have a new salon home and a wonderful new stylist! 5 Stars +++ to Brooks, Janet and the rest of the Bang Crew!

I've always been aware of Bang Salon but have never really gone there; I found out through a friend who works there (Brooks) that megan is dread knowledgable and very talented. I then made a consultation appointment with her, and was instantly sold! Not only was I impressed with her attitude of professionalism, but her ability to generally want to do a fantastic job as well! she explained what all would be happening and how she would be actually doing my dreads. For both of our sacks we broke it down into sessions and it took around a month to complete. All i can say is.....THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! This has truely meant alot and im the proud owner of so amazing dreads! Everything about the experience was fantastic! Love you guys!

I think I have been to every salon in G'ville without ever receiving exactly what I asked for. Then I found Bang Salon and Mehan! She has transformed my dreadful cut into something that I am proud of. She listened to my needs and then gave me the exact cut that I asked for. My hair has since evolved into something that is mine and mine alone. Also, she will always be honest if a cut will not work for you. I know I have asked for styles that would not work for me and most places will try to attempt it without having the courtesy to tell you that your hair texture (etc.) will not be able to do it. Meghan has always been frank with what can and cannot work for me and I have never had a stylist that I am 100% commited to until now. I would like to add that after I went to Bang that Janet followed up with me and even sent a hand written card. I could not believe that Meghan had a bad review, although the writting was so illegible that I barely understood what was being said. Maybe, Great Clips would be a better option for her. I highly recommend Bang Salon and Meghan and it shows, as my husband and sister also get their hair cut by her (and we are all Stylin')!!

I love Megan. I went in with long hair and was wanting something different but nervous to try anything from my normal do. I have curly/wavy hair and have always blown dried it straight. I showed Megan a picture from a magazine and she made it work to fit my face and hair texture and gave it her own twist to make it a little different. I haven't used a hair dryer since and I couldn't be more pleased that Megan finally helped me step out of my confront zone and try something new that she knew would look great on me and help me rock my wavy hair. She styled it beautifully and even said I could come in at anytime to have her help me with different ways to style it for different occasions. I can't wait to go back to get another one of a kind haircut. She is cutting edge and really keeps things fresh and new. She was very knowledgable and thought outside of the box. If you want the same old and boring hairstyle you've had for the past 30 years, go get your $5 haircut at one of the other places. If you want to see yourself move forward with hair fashion, go to Megan and get your $50 haircut and come out feeling new and approved. I recommend her to everyone and will continue to do so.

Diane- 1- I wasn't prompted by the salon to write a review. Last I checked this was a public site. When I see a bad review by MY hairdresser, than I have the same right as you to write my own opinion. 2- Just because you had a bad experience once with one hairdresser, how can you bad mouth the entire salon? 3- It would of been more mature of you to write that you and Meghan couldn't communicate what hairstyle you wanted and next time you'll do more research or asking before sitting in a chair to have a haircut. If you were having so much trouble stating what you wanted then why did you get your hair cut in the first place? Every salon I have gone to, not just Bang, I have sat down and made sure the stylist knew what I was wanting BEFORE they took the first snip. Who's to blame for your bad haircut? You, for letting someone cut your hair before she knew what she wanted or Meghan for trying to work with you and give you what you wanted before you apparently got to irritated to continue? Last I checked you are supposed to tell the hairdresser what you want at the beginning not the middle of a cut. 4- I don't appreciate you accusing me of writing a review because someone asked me to. I wrote a review because I have had a very good experience at Bang and I believe others will find it helpful to read more than one review when choosing a salon. I stand by everything I wrote. I too have thick and curly/ wavy hair, so it is only fair for the public to have more than one opinion on the same type hair.

megan ruined my hair,i did not know her specality is short
hair,in 2 hrs 30 mins she had thinned some hair and
fluffed my hair the entire time and cut my hair dry ,my hair
is very thick and curly,when it came time after over 2 hrs to
do something with the top,she said tell me what you want,
after 6 pictures and instructing her the entire time,i said
there is nothing else i can tell you,she said maybe when you get home and style it you will like it,50.00 hair cut was to include
style,she never cut the top,i told her dont cut anymore wet my

hair i am leaving,i gave her 25.00 half what the cut cost,my hair

looks like someone put a bowl on it,in the furture megan dont
pretend to know what you are doing,you will lose respect that way

I can not say enough good things about Jay and Bang Salon. Since I made the wise decision to try out Bang, I have yet to have a bad hair day. Jay is a genius with cut and color--anything he wants to do to my hair, I trust that it will come out looking fabulous. I will not let anyone else touch my hair from now on. The other stylists are all very friendly, and Janet, the manager is great. Bang is the place to go to get the best haircut in Greenville.

I recently moved to Greenville and was looking for a salon that could offer a more unique experience than the typical upscale, snooty places. I have found it! Bang Salon is a welcoming environment that offers top notch service and personalized attention. Don't be intimidated by the decor or the tattoos or multi colored hair- these people are warm, friendly and super knowledgeable. Jay spent 10 minutes examining my hair, talking to me about my needs, and giving me ideas. Then, I got the BEST HAIRCUT EVER. Seriously. For me, the biggest test of whether a haircut is good or not is whether I still like it a week later, and whether I can actually recreate the style at home. I'm happy to report that Jay far exceeded my expectations on both of these. I will be using Jay at Bang Salon forever.

I moved here several years ago and searched and searched for a stylist who believes in providing an excellent customer experience, not just coloring and cutting hair. Then I found Jay and I'm so happy I did! Great color, great cut, *fabulous* personal attention.
Janet, the salon owner, makes sure you are welcome and comfortable the minute you walk in the door. Most other salons (higher end) around here just take your name and forget about you until it's time for your appointment. Not at Bang. Very telling they have a fantastic business ethic there where customer satisfaction is most important.
I have some crazy curly long hair and Jay is one of the few people I've been to in this area who doesn't want to straighten it. I like the curls and he makes sure they look fabulous when I leave and teaches me how to make them look fabulous when I'm styling it myself.
Great color! I'm pretty low maintenance about everything else but color. Jay's figured out the perfect toner and perfect mix of highlights, lowlights and whatever other magic potion he puts in there.
I've gone to some very expensive salons in this area but none can compare with the level of service that Jay and Bang Salon provide. I highly, completely and totally recommend them. Love them!!

I am truly a hair idiot and needed something (anything) done with my hair. I have unruly/wavy/course hair and refuse to use anything more than a brush and a blow-bryer. I travel a lot with my work, so getting in with a stylist can be an event. I did a city search on upscale salons in Greenville and Bang was all over the place with positive reviews. I called and spoke with Janet (turned out to be the salon proprietor) to make an appointment. She asked me pertinent questions about the services that I wanted and my type of hair and set me up for the very next day for a cut with the stylist she suggested, Amy. When I arrived, I was welcomed and offered something to drink by the super funky receptionist (again it was Janet). I am an uber conservative accountant, and honestly wondered momentarily if I had made the correct choice! She fetched Amy (whom also offered me something to drink) and we got started. Amy took her time checking out my hair's texture and thickness, asked me ALL of the right questions, gave me a fantastic cut & style and some very easy styling tips that I actually am USING. What a terrific salon and a great experience! I even got a thank you note in the mail a few days later from Janet -- how many people follow up like that?! If you are looking for a quick cheap haricut this may not be the place for you, but if you are looking for a salon to KEEP, this is the one.

Like many people in denial, I suffered from a serious condition that I was not aware of. Yes, I had real estate hair. Donald Trump would have been proud of my helmet head of long hair. I was in a desperate need of a makeover and a newer style. After researching hair salons on the web, I made an appointment at the Bang Salon. When I drove up, the front of the building makes you get cold feet but you just need to get inside the front door. The inside is a high end modern dcor with featured local artwork on the walls. There were several pieces I would have loved to take home. The inside is not large but more of a comfortable boutique feel with open spaces. I was offered something to drink when I arrived and then introduced to Amy as my stylist. Amy did a wonderful job of listening to my needs and asking questions. Soon, the floor was covered in hair as my shaggy head was transformed into a more modern trendy style. The Paul Mitchell products are great, too. I plan on going back later this week to pick up some of the products she used in styling my hair. The best part is when I was heading home after my haircut I went to the grocery store to pick up some wine and actually got carded. Not bad for 41 years old.

I moved to south carolina a year ago, and had been searching for a place to get my hair cut. After several disappointments I found Bang. This is where I will ALWAYS come from now on! Everyone is very friendly, and I got a killer cut from Brooks. He spent at least an hour working on my hair and it's one of my best cuts ever! I highly recommend this salon.

Love Bang Salon! Amy is my stylist. I love being able to walk in, sit down and not have to worry at all about anything going wrong! So reassuring today when it's very common to walk into a place expecting something and walking out with a train wreck! Amy is cordial and easy to talk to! She does a great job of cutting your hair but not giving you the typical "fresh cut" look. I also love the way my hair grows back after Amy cuts it! I have been so impressed by Amy and the people at Bang salon! What a great group! I highly recommend it!

I have been to Bang on several occasions, but Brooks went that extra mile to ensure that my cut was everything that I expected and desired. He took his time, asked me about my lifestyle, the amount of time that I spent on my hair per day, and gave the the best cut that I've had in years! It is easy to maintain, style, and be a lady about town without the hassle of spending thirty minutes fixing it every morning! The staff was so friendly! The stylists meshed in a way that I haven't seen in a long time. I'm finished with the hoity-toity salons in Greenville: I will remain a loyal client until I'm eighty.

The salon is a bit progressive for Greenville. I'm not a non-conformist by any means, especially where my hair is concerned(I am a bit on the conservative side). Do NOT let the blue and yellow hair scare you away. I thank Brooks and the rest of the staff for making my experience at the salon a great one. I will be back!

There is no other salon in Greenville like Bang. All of the stylists are at the top of their game and you can tell that everybody is passionate about what they are doing. Brooks has done a phenomenal job and Janet, the Owner, has continuously gone out of her way to make sure every client is happy. She even remembered me mentioning that my favorite band was playing at the Handlebar, and by the next time I visted the salon had surprised me with a huge sticker with the signatures from everyone in the band! Too nice. The punk rock vibe of the salon could be intimidating to some, but everyone there is more than friendly and welcoming - which I much prefer to some other pretentious salons in town. The other thing that I love is that the salon is a huge supporter of local artists. They even have artist openings once a month and hang up new artwork around the salon on a monthly basis, as if the salon doubles as an art gallery! In short, Bang is the coolest place to get your hair done, whether you want a sleek, more conservative cut or a funky modern 'do. You won't be disappointed!

Me and my friend went to bang to get her haircut. I don't have anything really bad to say but I also don't have anything good today. Everybody was nice besides the woman at the front desk. She is covered with tattoos and looks mean. The baby thing was lil freaky but whatever. Her haircut was cute, and her stylist was nice. But she cut her bangs unevenly and my mom had to cut them when we got home. All around its a cool different salon but freaky all at same time. I'm sure some people love it but I can say I'm not getting my hair cut there or going back

I couldn't have wished for a better experience. Based on the ideas I had for my hair, Janet, the salon owner, suggested my stylist, Meghan, who gave me the best color & cut I've ever had. I left 100% hotter & had an absolute blast. Thanks again, Janet & Meghan! As long as Bang exists, I'll never go anywhere else.

Jay has a great talent cutting hair. He treated me like a queen. They have done a great job making the place unique. Some of the art that was displayed was scary and dark. I wish they can remove the baby from the wall. That was a little sick to me.

Bang is wonderful salon to be a part of. Janet is wonderful and all of the stylists are no less wonderful themselves. Brooks does amazing work--cut and color. I whole-heartedly regret letting anyone else touch my hair! I get compliments daily on how amazing my hair looks whether it's straight, curly, up or down... and that's the start of a lifelong relationship with your stylist!

Love this place! The salon has a great atmosphere. Megan was my stylist and she did a fantastic job! Her specialty is short hair cuts, which is what I had done. She was very patient and took her time to make it look perfect. She also showed me several ways to style it, which was a huge plus. I'll definitely be going back!

Best hair cut in years! Being over 40 I wanted an updated look (age appropriate funky) w/o looking like a 20 something reality star. Meghan came through! She has great attention to detail and a strong desire for perfection (rare qualities these days) as well as knowing the latest looks w/o a one-size-fits-all approach. That said she spent 2 hrs. with me (very thick wavey hair) and asked all the right questions allowing her to give me a cut I could/would work with. Shampooed the next morn and it looked as good as when I got out of her chair! Thanks Meghan! You have a new client.

I went in with nice enough looking hair but lacking shape and style. Jay was recommended to me and it was such a pleasant experience. I was made to feel so relaxed and confident I was in good hands. Jay was so attentive and it was obvious he was extremely good and an expert with hair. He knew everything!! I left with a stylish look that I did not have going in. I have been able to style my new cut easily and it still looks fresh as it is growing out in between cuts. I have received many compliments. Many thanks to Jay....

Brooks took excellent care of me and my boyfriend. He really took the time to find out what we wanted out of our hair. We didn't have to wait, and were even offered beverages to add to the relaxation of our visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the scalp massage, and my boyfriend especially liked how his hair was styled. We will definitely return. I have found my new hair stylist!!

I have had so many haircuts and colors in my time but I have to say that my experience at Bang Salon was by far the best of them all. Brooks Burns (stylist/colorist) is amazing. He took the look I was going for and made it work for my face shape and skin tone. Not only is the color beautiful the cut is stunning. I have a short Paul Mitchell bob (which I am told is one of the most difficult cuts to pull off) and it is perfect. Brooks really took his time to make it perfect. Everyone in the salon is wonderful! I have been pining for a really good salon in Greenville, and I saw Bang one day when I was leaving the Handlebar. Love it! Great atmosphere, really cool and friendly staff. Bianca has literally given me the best haircut I've had in years, possibly ever. She's so open to experimenting, but knows how to make the cut look refined and very high quality. My friends in New York thought I had gotten it cut there at one of those $200 salons. Plus she is such a funny and wonderful lady! Love this place!

Having just moved to Greenville from South Florida in September, it was stressful to think I had to find a good stylist and colorist. I had NO clue until, that is, I was lucky enough to discover on the internet--Bang Salon! After reading a bunch of great reviews, I knew where I was going. I asked for Bianca because she seemed perfect for me. Well, let me tell you--that girl is a wizard! She knows her stuff and she's loads of fun and nice besides. I needed a sassy cut, color, and highlights--and Bianca gave me exactly what I wanted. Love her! All I can say is that you "unhappy heads" out there better get yourselves over to the Bang Salon if you want some REAL style!!! Everyone there is very friendly and they all do super work. This place is not the average salon--it is truly a class act!

It was a great experience, I was a little scared because of two previous bad experiences in other salons but from the moment that I walked in the door, I was greeted immediately by Janet, she was really cool and professional. My appointment was with Bianca, it was my first experience with the salon and with Bianca and he took excellent care of me!!, since I had a bad experience before with another salon I took a picture of the haircut that I wanted and asked her opinion, she gave me her advice for the cut and the color and she gave me the look I wanted and that fits my face perfect!. The whole staff there is so friendly,they recommended me the right shampoo and gave me free samples for me to try, I highly recommend this salon to everybody, Bianca is awsome, she is very professional, knows what she's doing and pretty cool, she didn't care that I have an accent, she made me feel really comfortable, it's been a long time since I have had the look I've wanted, plus you can enjoy good music, good art and a nice glass of wine, water, beer, soda!, Bang will be my salon from now on. Thanks a lot!

Bianca es excelente, profesional y cool, no le importa que tenga mi acento como a muchas personas en esta parte del sur, me hizo sentir muy comoda y me corto' el pelo exactamente como se lo pedi, todoas las personas que trabajan ahi son muy amables ,me recomendaron el shampoo adecuado y me dieron uno gratis para que probara, puedes disfrutar de una copa de vino, cerveza ,soda, agua mientras esperas y escuchar buena musica, definitivamente Bang Salon sera' mi salon de ahora en adelante. hello to everyone! i just wanted to express my appreciation for the wonderful experience that i had at bang salon.... from the moment that i walked in the door, i was greeted immediately by all of your staff. it was so refreshing to be noticed, especially when the salon was soooo busy!
it was my first experience with brooks, and he took excellent care of me!!! i had never had a stylist take such time to explore different options of hair color and cut. needless to say, i will certainly remain a loyal client... i am so glad that you guys are right around the corner and i will gladly recommend brooks and bang salon!!!

Bang Salon: No Words Can Describe

Bianca is the best. Went there today and had the greatest experience. Told her what I wanted and she gave me the look to a tee. The whole staff there is so friendly. Been a long time since I have had the look I've wanted. Bang will be my salon from now on. Thanks to all!
